They are probably doing this due to some indigenous air defense achievements of their private defense industry. Look at some of the equipment Aselsan has been rolling out. So it could be both a play to soften up F35 and American System Acq, and also deployment of Turkish systems that warrant S-400s not as crucial. Although the S-400 is superior, bulking on their own equipment might be the better option as Turkey probably isn't forseeing any major attacks crossing its airspace.

I would like to know if their is anything Turkey is specifically looking for. All conflicts Turkey is currently involved in are either frozen, low intensity, or they are working with the Americans under Joint command. So my think tank consultants here, please explain, instead of making smooth brain obvious comments like: "DUHHH, Russia and Turkey are enemies, Turkey don't like Russia and want American F35 DUHHHH, That is why Turkey is returning the S-400 to Putler, DUHHH."

Turkey became a partner in the F-35 development program in 2002, investing approximately $1.3 to $1.4 billion. In 2019, due to its purchase of the Russian S-400 system, Turkey was excluded from the program by the United States, with delivery plans canceled, pilot training interrupted, and facing sanctions under the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act.

The F-35s that belong to Turkey have already been produced, and Turkey has paid for six F-35 fighter jets, but these aircraft are currently still stored in U.S. warehouses, with the U.S. refusing to deliver them.

Developing fifth-generation aircraft and mass-producing fifth-generation aircraft are two different concepts. On January 29, 2010, Russia's SU-57 had its maiden flight, with only one or two aircraft delivered per batch, and by 2025, only 26 aircraft had been equipped. Mass production of Turkey’s fifth-generation aircraft will still take time.

The Turkish Air Force needs the F-35 to maintain its military strength. Turkey has already paid for the F-35s, but the U.S. refuses to deliver them. If the U.S. believes a country’s actions affect its interests, it will use various pretexts to sanction that country. This has always been standard U.S. practice.

How on earth you got audacity to compare your plastic model with KAAN ? The one that flew was a prototype. You donot fly a model. Flight test prototype is not meant for political show lol. You have to test flight characteristic, that means all of control bodies, the engine, thrust, everything is already worked upon. It's atleast 10 years ahead of india's plastic model. BTW, likely AMCA isn't going to fly in your lifetime. Even if it did, it will be too late for 5th gen platforms. Now these systems are advancing at rapid rate. China's 6th gen plaforms are already flying. By the time, india will induct it. It will be outdated to use it in combat just like Tejas. Tejas was inducted after 40 years from inception. It was absent from action in 2019. It was absent from action in 2025. India simply do not have confidence on it. That's because of the enormous delay that has made the machine obsolete at the time of its induction. Same is the pattern for AMCA.

That is not a plastic model. From what I have learned, it is made of steel. AMCA has evolved from a PPT in 2001 to a steel model in 2025, which is a huge advancement.

What I'm curious about is where the wind tunnel testing for the Indian AMCA model was conducted. It is foreseeable that this model will still need modifications.

Personally, I believe the US should deny Turkey the F-35.

If Turkey now chooses to reject the F-35, having already paid for it, will the U.S. refund the money?

Turkey should either receive the F-35s or get a refund, but Turkey gets nothing and can only request the delivery of the F-35s from the U.S., which seriously affects Turkey's foreign policy.

You don't think China has restrictions on their fighter jets that are exported? Only nation I know that is liberal when it comes to their export fighters are the French.

Currently, the only country equipped with Chinese fighter jets is our friend Pakistan; you can consult them. I haven't found any information that the Chinese jets sold have installed hidden doors, nor are there any restrictions on their use, and there has been no case of refusing to sell parts, weapons, or upgrades.

S400 is useless against Israeli air force, esp the Israeli F35. Better to get rid of it and open fresh pathways.

My friend, Israel bombed Qatar, and Qatar's air defense weapons did not respond at all. This is a very frightening situation.
