The whole point of Turkey building its own things is so that it doesn't have a leash on its foreign policy and ability to do whatever it wants. Are they making Israel sign BS about not messing with Turkey? Or restrictions on it and not having relations with the PKK or staying out of Syria?

They will keep coming up with new BS restrictions.

These F-35s aren't the end all be all.

Lets see, I'm not significantly worried. It would have been nice to have the F-35, to benchmark the KAAN and its development and improvements, but its not the end all be all.

Turkey has more strategic room to manoeuvre than the Turks themselves realise...... with dwindling western military prowess turkey's importance in the security paradigm is rising.....tiny Israel has inherent limitations , she can't be a substitute for Turkey.

The problem for Pakistan, is that they could well end up in India, used against Pakistan or free enough capacity in India to speed up the S400 delivery schedule.

Better, if they were reserved for the rebuilding of the IADS for Syria or even sell them to Iran.

Yes I even recall the Turks downing a Russian jet a couple of years ago. But they quickly apologized to cover that incident.

But Turkey did try to diversify it's arms interests by buying the S400 from the Russians. Did not turn out the geopolitical power move they expected it to be though.
