Actually, air shows are best left to dedicated teams whose bread and butter is low level displays in controlled airfield environments.

Even those suffer their casualties.

Aluminum filled with fuel - with a fragile mass of bones and meat that is subject to physical forces that the aircraft also bears and whose sensor processing is dependent upon tens if not hundreds of factors - has higher probability for things going wrong.

The bigger question is what should do air shows? While thrilling - an operational F-16 is purchased with Tax Payer money..
on the other hand a private owner's extra 300 or even a private owner's L-39 or Mig-29 is their money.
