S80 will let you integrate another combat system. It could be US or even german one. Even you can integrate news equipments much more advanced like INDRA ESM/ECM mast.

Our open arquitecture would allow also to integrate much more advanced AIP like ethanol reformator. And probably even sub launched version of Brahmos if It can be fitted in 533 standard size launcher.

1) Not a single french sub use AIP. It's a technology developped for export only.
2) The Agosta AIP is quite old tech now, and found dangerous as it use liquid oxygen. This is why India didn't like it.

well they are showing pictures of periscope of subs in international waters so what ????

even Sweden and Russia keeps tailing US navies SEA WOLF class subs on regular basis and often tracking them in excersises dose not makes them any great or dose it

US navy is still the power to be replaced if anyone wants to rule the intenrational waters and despitetwin hull Russians having more subs for so many years which were way to big and even some were more silent US navy still rules the waters

same way German and french diesel electric subs are way way ahed when it comes to almost silent diesel engines and ultra low drag bodies that genrate very very low noise as compared to even Americans

there is a lot that has changed since technoly of your Nimrods and P8Is and MH-60R Romeo technology and then we also have Sea Gaurdian type Drones and dediccated spy stattelites fr the same job aswell ... so cheers mate

There is no info out there which can specify which type will detect the other first. The tactics of submarine commander & crew depends a lot here. Diesel electric subs are very quiet. Whichever sub makes first mistake will be exposed, like colliding with any under sea object, or crew making unintentional noise etc. However, as soon as torpedo is fired, the other sub will know about the first one too.

However, its not neccessary that submarine will face off opponent's submarine. Submarines will try to go after surface fleet wherever they can.

So if a quieter stealth submarine fires a torpedo then the other submarine which maybe nosy will know exactly where it is and will fire one back before going down.

PN Agosta 90Bs with AIP and heavy torpedos are roaming the Indian Ocean right now, but they will be defeated as Indian posters here are posting about AIP Subs they may acquire 5 years from now, as soon as PN Sub captains log on and read this forum games up for us all!
