I agree with visa system but our rulers are now even deporting afghan refugees who have POR cards. When afghan taliban came back to power in 2021 some more afghan refugees came to pakistan since they feared taliban will kill them because they were working for the previous regime.shall we send them back to suffer.
In AJK we have Afghans who run shops, do labour work, construction work. The locals are either lazy or too expensive and the Afghans do work at affordable rate. The locals dacoits don't like Afghans and will be jumping with joy, they can now form monopoly and increase charge 10x. Afghan shops are also alot cheaper whilst locals and Pakistan owned shop keepers ripp people off. Some of them Afghans lived in Pakistan for 40 years, their children and grandchildren born in Pakistan.
Pakistan rulers are following the Arab GCC method, if any country is unfriendly towards them they will threaten to kick all their workers out. Just like how Saudia threatened to kick Pakistanis out and today we are singing Saudi songs. Pakistan wants Taliban to listen and be friendly and if they are not then all Afghans must leave policy comes in affect.
I do understand. Afghanis are just trying to make a living. Some will rightly say They should not be here end all, as “illegals”. You do have greedy businesses exploiting these undocumented Afghani workers. And it’s not entirely fair for local people trying to survive and feed themselves impossible to compete with low paid Afghani workers, its not good for your local worker and Afghans . Employers are the true winners here.
Most i met are hardworking people, some walk miles upon miles in the mountains just to sharpen knives for the locals. Maybe the locals should lower their rates and not ripp people off. We have alot of benefit because of Afghans, they do hard work, cut grass in the mountains, cut trees, the cheap labour benefits the locals. I understand illegals should be deported but not those who are hardworking people. Like I said our rulers are using this for politics, to control the Taliban.
Maybe if the locals did these hard jobs then there would be no need to employ afghansTrekking for miles over mountains for low wages. Kind a sounds like a , Modern day indentured servitude. What you are doing is depressing your local peoples wages IMO. And keeping your AJK workers in never ending poverty.
Maybe if the locals did these hard jobs then there would be no need to employ afghans
dont care , a lot of them support terrorism ( even the ones educated in Pakistan )Maybe if the locals did these hard jobs then there would be no need to employ afghans
Well, if the Afghans didn't present themselves as willing slaves, I am sure locals would get a chance to do "these hard jobs".Maybe if the locals did these hard jobs then there would be no need to employ afghans
I can't believe they occupied such a large area. That looked like a properly "colony'.
I am so glad Pakistan has managed to retrieve that area back. It could've been a major disaster for Pakistan if another generation had been born there, and they decided to launch some kind of an Afghan backed separatist war against Pakistan.![]()
This is what i mean many who have been repatriated before come back after some time becuase life in afghanistan is much more difficult. And some afghans were born in pakistan to refugee parents and lived all their life in pakistan. Is it possible for them to integrate into afghanistan again.I spoke to my brother-in-law in Chitral today. He has many Afghan friends in Chitral. He was telling me that almost 90% Afghans in Chitral have been repatriated to Afghanistan. Many of his Afghan friends told him that they were going to return. The authorities need to be very alert. The Afghans are going to make full effort to return to Pakistan. They have zero affiliation and interest in Aghanistan. I means absolutely zero.
Had 3+ million Afghan refguees been granted Pakistani citizienship, they would have proliferated in Pakistan and abroad and after a few decades it would have become a total seperatist movement.
They would appear as Pakistanis to the world, there would be no coming back from that.
We should be thankful the establishment took the actions they did in the last few years. They have saved the future of Pakistan.
I am all for a citizenship pathway for non Pakistanis who are not our ideological enemies. There is always a place for good natured and hard working people who arrive with documents and a visa.
