President-elect Donald Trump revealed on Sunday night that he plans to appoint Tom Homan, who served as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement between 2017 and 2018, as the next "border czar."
"I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation's Borders ("The Border Czar"), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump continued, "I've known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin."

The Trump transition team has just announced his selection for US ambassador to the United Nations - pro-Israeli militant, Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik.
Stefanik made headlines last year with her campaign to oust college leaders who did not adequately denounce antisemitism on campuses.
In CNN’s words back in December 2023 when university presidents’ heads were rolling over “antisemitism”:
Stefanik, a Harvard graduate herself, has been leading the charge since the hearing to highlight and investigate campus antisemitism, and her efforts have attracted supporters from across the aisle as well as former President Donald Trump.
Stefanik blasted her alma mater, whose president has not stepped down from her post despite some calls for it. Harvard President Claudine Gay has has the unanimous support of the university’s board, Harvard’s highest governing body said in a statement Tuesday.
“This is a moral failure of Harvard’s leadership and higher education leadership at the highest levels, and the only change they have made to their code of conduct where they failed to condemn calls for genocide of the Jewish people,” Stefanik said at a news conference on Capitol Hill.
