used to have a favourable view for these people untill i actually met a few in my university..... They have gotten too much for free. I am all for giving them their royalty but then state should take every single subsidy back!

Unfortunately, The, Mirpuri diaspora have genuine negative thoughts on us to I met a few they had the grumbling anger of us for ripping their families off at Islamabad airport . Kind of goes roundabout when it comes to Pakistanis & Kashmiri peoples we are good or bad.

Some demands are reasonable and justified, some are not.

I think there's a populist motive behind this as well, but it sure as heck does not absolve the government of responsiblity.

This is what happens when you have non-representative people in government. They don't care what the awam thinks, they just believe everything can be quelled by force, kyunkay agli bar hakumat main to fauj ki madad say hi ana hai.

I am still amazed why our policy makers do not realize that election fudging has far reaching consequences which affect your society, economy, governance, development, foreign policy, everything.

Definitely, the local leadership couldn't care less, when people protest they use the police to attack the protesters, this may work in big cities but not in the areas of kashmir where everyone is armed. The government as usual sign agreements and then backtrack, and when they are stuck they blame the punjabi elites which causes more issues. Pakistan leadership needs to send a negotiating team with full authority, explain to the people on the cost of building dams, the price for maintenance, and then make sure noone from Punjab elite steals the electricity, when everyone pays for it then decide on giving royalties and cheaper price to the locals. If that's not fair then why make agreements in the first place.

But it's the truth, the islamabad police and airport authorities rip you off when they know your going AJK, if you drive a car with Islamabad or Lahore number plate they treat you differently but with AJK number plate they will always pull you up and demand gunda tax. The corrupt dacoit government is responsible for this.

Pakistan need to get rid of Swine PA and get this man out of jail and unite the county again!!!

They want cheaper electricity, the people have been told by their leadership that Pakistan (Punjab) uses their land for electricity generation and then sells it back to them at an expensive price. Its also true that alot of Punjabi mafia steals electricity and don't pay a penny so this adds to the fuel.

Well this has been the case about alot of areas.

KP does not get it's fair share of payments from federal for the hydro resources.

Neither does AJK

Sui didn't have gas for long.

And the list goes on.

So there is some merit to the argument.

Fundings from taxpayers build dams so yes even if we find an ideal location its expensive AF and unlike mining its not my land my right kinda situation
as dam is not a gold mine, oil reserves with low to medium investments with high returns
Billions of $ of investment for 30-40 years of cheap electricity during summer season while rest of the year its oil and coal
You dont get cheaper electricity just because its your land- you didn't pay for the dam, you didnt build the dam, electricity theft is high putting more pressure on those who already pay
This whole mentality reeks of sub Saharan, lazy attitude that keeps people back

certain amount of royalty paid directly to state gov is fine but electric subsidy is stupidity
Punjab and Karachi bankrolls the entire electricity infrastructure with the least electricity theft issues in the country so the theft issue is either a lie or exaggeration of facts

Phari, potohari, Northern Punjabis whatever you identify runs this state through the army so they are way more powerful than actual elites of Lahore as there's no democracy in Pak
Paharis are blaming Lahore because Lahore is an easier target with no power except civil as gov is making them pay thier fair share like everyone else

But if you are so angry stop sending your sons to the army as a sign of protest
Than I'll take them seriously instead of what it actually is ie lazy seething

The mafia in charge rips the people off, steals their resources and makes billions in profit, in Balochistan we have seen less development, the money does not reach to the locals, today we have issue in Gwadar, we can blame the locals for opposing the developments but we fail to look deeper in to the complaints such as again the mafia making plans to steal land, overtake everything, destroying local people businesses but making billions themselves. I was watching a video of Iran Pak border, the government stopped people to people trade between balochis from both sides but the local security forces are making millions annually. The rulers are responsible for all this mess.

The only solution is to sign long term agreements and stick to them, give certain percentage of royalties to the provinces because they are autonomous, also give discount on electricity, same should be applied to Balochis, KPK people. Let the people know the government cares about them and doesn't treat them like a tissue paper.

AJK people have guns but are not the rebellious bunch. The locals act like mafias in their own areas, use political connections to loot the weak, I guess its same all over Pakistan. Pakistan needs independent powerful institutes who give justice to the people and protect the weak, take away the power from the local politicians and mafias.

Imagine the duffers used to point fingers on Indian held Kashmir. They turned their own population against them. Duffers learned no lesson from 71. When sane people tell them about 71', army goons or their duffer supporters say oh that can never happen in Pakistan as Bengal was 1000s miles away. I mean look at their stupid mentality. They are essentially saying we will keep using force, brutality, tortures, abductions, but you Pakistanis can't do a thing about it. I mean they are even not ready to change their behavior at all. Even if Pakistanis aren't able to do what Bengalis were able to do, the country will still keep burning, no economic activity, no progress and military will keep ruling over ashes like bullies.

Duffer army men at top want to assert their own control, why they can't ever think about the country. I mean patriotic citizens of Pakistan or overseas who love their forefather's land never want infighting at first place. People only want the best for Pakistan and that's possible only when Army behaves and serves as servants of the nation and not try to become owners of the country.
