US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

So CENTCOM lied when it said that all mines have been cleared?

Hard to determine. I doubt any of the shipping companies would say anything out of concerns of customers not wanting to use them.

Who knows at this point? Between the misinformation and AI-generated posts on X, I'm being very skeptical.

I’m telling you skynet is just about here ready to takeover….but what that hanger hit showed you Iran must have hit something fairly important for trump to lose his usual “cool” I don’t think this current round is over I guess trump will say Iran will have .5 percent of their missiles left next round and people will say Irans missile capabilities are now 3 generations behind

Trump: We will respond to the Iranian attack that targeted American forces in Jordan

To the casual observer, it appears the United States is pursuing a gradual and consistent approach:

First: Striking nuclear facilities and capabilities.

Second: Targeting and assassinating first, second, and even third-tier leaders to weaken decision-making and leadership centers.

Third: Imposing sanctions and economic pressure to weaken the state from within.

Ultimately, we might reach the most difficult option: direct intervention or a ground invasion.

The Americans are generally not hasty in their approach to results and have a long-term perspective on managing conflicts. Therefore, things may seem calm at first, but if we consider these steps together, we might see a strategy unfolding gradually and cautiously to achieve the ultimate goal.

The brutal truth is that Iran is in the worst strategic position it’s ever been in. The future of Iran .. as a unified regional power , is basically being dismantled piece by piece by the United States. There’s no scenario where Trump “loses” anything to Iran. Iran has no real allies, no meaningful partners, and no state willing to actually bleed for them. China won’t. Russia won’t. The Arab world won’t. Europe won’t. The global system doesn’t care what happens to Iran beyond keeping oil lanes open.

And honestly, a lot of the sympathy Iran had evaporated the moment they started threatening ships in the Strait of Hormuz. People who were previously neutral or even supportive suddenly saw Iran acting like a bully, threatening civilian crews just doing their jobs. That was a massive strategic mistake. Instead of looking like a victim of pressure, they looked like an aggressor lashing out.

Iran needed to stay calm, disciplined, and predictable. Instead, they escalated with threats they couldn’t back up. Now the international mood has shifted: most countries would quietly prefer Iran to crumble rather than keep destabilising the region. That’s the reality , harsh, unfiltered, and exactly why the idea of Trump “losing” to Iran doesn’t match the geopolitical facts.
There are only 64 more days until Donald Trump can stop worrying about elections and do whatever he wants with Iran.

Until then, we'll just have to endure 64 days of nonsensical comments from him, apparently as a tactic to buy time.

Wow extremely weird 100 suspected mines were removed so not even saying all 100 were mines and the straits are very huge and I can only assume Iran has more than 100 mines in its inventory and would have been laying many during this quiet time and many before during the height of the war……so this is starting to sound like trump is trying make a small achievement that they’re not even 💯 percent sure is the correct amount of mines that were deactivated honestly 🤦 I like the one sane comment from this twitter feed ...
How many ships have been damaged or destroyed by the mines so far this year?

I’m pretty sure they’re mostly on Irans route to be fair and most of these ships that have been passing through the straits are traveling through omans route so the argument doesn’t really hold up if you leave out gaps of information out of your post but a lot people do that……….

Iran will never be broken up. As far as Trump goes well, it could literally take decades to recover from the damage he's done
Not just broken up, but completely wiped off the map several times throughout their history.

Iran's modern territorial footprint is only around 223 years old, dating roughly from 1803, when the Qajars finally consolidated control over Mashhad and Khorasan.

That's younger than the United States.

What about Medes, Achameneids, Parthians, Safavids, Afsharids, etc...

IRAN is home to several massive empires

NOTE: This new "victory narrative" operation by the media highlights and confirms what we already suspected: the US was militarily defeated. NOW, they are creating this action to, along with some internal spies, try for a new color revolution in the future, but they won't succeed.
When can we expect Iranian sailing through the Suez Canal again and what about Khamenei Jr? When can we expect him to come out of hiding.

Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof. This isn't the only thread that suffers from it.
Will this count as proof?

In the 1990s, Pakistan, North Korea, Iran and Libya all faced varying degrees of US pressure and sanctions, creating incentives for closer relationships outside the Western system.

After Pakistan's nuclear tests in May 1998, there was reportedly a belief among some Pakistani nuclear figures that other Muslim countries should also develop nuclear capabilities.

The logic behind this thinking was that, if there were three, they could collectively withstand Western pressure.

Here's the brief timeline that follows:

February 2000: Pakistan's military leadership reportedly began receiving information/suspicions about A.Q. Khan's proliferation activities.

January 2002: The United States declared Iran, Iraq and North Korea as the Axis of Evil.

October 2003: The seizure by German/Italian authorities of centrifuge components bound for Libya on the BBC China helped expose the international Khan proliferation network.

Iran backstabs Pakistan by handing over Pakistani centrifuge designs to the US. The US returns these designs to Pakistan as proof of nuclear proliferation.

December 2003: Libya formally renounces nuclear weapons program.

January 2004: The United States begins airlifting 55,000 pounds of documents and nuclear related material. This helps. US investigators uncover the extent of the Khan network.

February 2004: Pakistan's Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan publicly admitted responsibility for nuclear proliferation to Iran, Libya and North Korea.

Pakistan's view on Libya and Iran changes dramatically, that these two nations are so weak and pathetic that they could not handle US pressure and decided to reveal all Pakistani officials and unofficial assistance to the US.

  • 2006: North Korea conducted its first nuclear test.
  • 2011: Muammar Gaddafi was killed following the Libyan civil war.
  • 2026: Iran is now facing an extraordinarily difficult strategic situation.

How’s that proof about anything American intelligence and basically the rest of the world not including Israel or Trump(I’m pretty sure he knows he got conned by Bibi but to late now)said Iran stopped their nuclear weapons program 20 plus years ago if we want to go with hypotheticals Iran could have had a nuclear weapon at nearly any point before this war if they had chosen to but the person said 2030 Iran has the basic knowledge and still does have the basic knowledge to build a weapon but they didn’t believe the risk outweighed the reward assuming their calculations have changed a bit by now

Will or not, Iran has been so heavily degraded, they can only fire <10 ballistic missiles per day with limited attacks on commercial shipping. Oil flow through the southern route continues to rise.

Midterm impacts are overstated IMO. Repubs were losing a chamber regardless of the war. Trumps not running for reelection, he can carry this out until the end of his term if he wants.

But but the draft dodger in chief said the US destroyed all of Iran missiles?

OK, let's decipher this.

Strait of Hormuz — shipping routes
  1. Iranian side: Iranian territorial waters
  2. Omani side: Omani territorial waters
  3. Central shipping route: The route runs through areas on both the Iranian and Omani sides.

Iranian claim regarding mines
  1. Iranian side — mined: Yes
  2. Omani side — mined: No
  3. Central route — Iranian side: Mined / claimed to have been mined
  4. Central route — Omani side: No

US claim regarding mines cleared
  1. Iranian side — mined: Yes / not cleared
  2. Omani side — cleared
  3. Central route — Iranian side: cleared
  4. Central route — Omani side: cleared

My interpretation:
I am of the opinion that Iran may have mined its own side of the Strait, as well as the portion of the central shipping route on the Iranian side.

If that interpretation is correct:
  1. The Iranian side remains mined.
  2. The Iranian portion of the central shipping route has been cleared.
  3. The Omani side was never mined.
  4. The Omani portion of the central shipping route was never mined.
This could explain the apparent contradiction between the Iranian and US statements.

Iran may be referring specifically to the mines on the Iranian side, while the US is referring to the Omani side and the central shipping route that it says has been cleared.
