Senator Mazie Hirono posed a critical question to Pete Hegseth regarding the hypothetical scenario of carrying out an order from Trump to shoot protesters in the legs. This inquiry was not only appropriate but necessary, considering Hegseth's radical beliefs and questionable honesty. Hirono’s questioning highlighted the potential implications of appointing someone with such radical perspectives to a position of significant power. The context of this question stems from reports that Trump had suggested using such force during the BLM protests, following the death of George Floyd.Mazie Hirono is proving to be one of the dumbest members of the US Senate. Only Patty Murray has proven to be dumber.
As for "shooting protestors", Hirono should consider educating herself on the Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) Act. Now, whether military personnel would indiscriminately start shooting civilians? Highly doubtful. The US military is well trained and disciplined and would act according to lawful orders. Unlike the Capitol police officer who murdered an unarmed veteran and was subsequently promoted for it.
