Senators have received an affidavit from the former sister-in-law of Pete Hegseth, President Trump's nominee to serve as secretary of defense, that says his behavior caused his second wife to fear for her safety. NBC News' Julie Tsirkin reports from Capitol Hill as Hegseth and his attorney deny the allegations as he awaits Senate confirmation.

Which was debunked in less than 2 minutes. By Hegseth's former wife herself.

This is the same crap the Democrats pulled during the Kavanaugh hearings for the Supreme Court.

It is a developing story, and we will see what happens. Nonetheless, he is a drunk and incompetent candidate for Secretary of Defense.

Tim Miller and his Bulwark crew are also pretty good, lefties all.

Tim Miller, Sarah, and Jonathan are all moderate Republicans, so I'm not sure why you believe they're lefties. I frequently watch Bulwark, politically, they're my type of people. Miller served as the communication director for Jeb Bush's 2016 presidential campaign and as a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee during Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign. Sarah hosts the focus group podcast and is the publisher of Bulwark. Jonathan work for the Weekly Standard as a writer.

King was a piece of commie shit.

If you want to remember a true Civil Rights hero, Malcolm X is by far the better choice.

In two years, 2027, the FBI recordings will become public.
Just so you know, I'm allergic to communism. Now back on topic.

He has occasionally been accused by critics of being a communist sympathizer and a womanizer. But it is important to distinguish his significant achievements to the civil rights struggle from his personal shortcomings. He was a complicated person having both virtues and vices, like many historical leaders. His significant contribution to the advancement of social justice and human rights, however, is not diminished by his personal failings.

His contributions to the struggle for civil rights are numerous and extensive. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his efforts to fight racial injustice through peaceful opposition. His leadership and action helped establish historic laws, such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Montgomery Bus Boycott/Rosa Parks Act. These laws outlawed discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

His tireless efforts for civil rights, social justice, and nonviolence have significantly contributed to making America a better, more just, and inclusive country.

There was no "developing" at all. It was debunked. Yesterday.

Hegseth is no less qualified to be SecDef than any other SecDef. On the other forum I am active, I pointed out the number of previous SecDefs who were of similar rank to Hegseth, or, had NO military experience whatsoever. Here's an interesting tidbit: Recently departed National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan had ZERO experience in national security. None whatsoever. Yet, he had the President's ear in matters of: National Security.

Everyone looked at Ulysses S. Grant as a drunk and an incompetent. Yes, he was indeed a drunk. And, one of the most effective generals on the Union side. Unlike Gen. McClellan, who commanded the largest army at the time, the Army of the Potomac, Lincoln said of Grant "I need him. He fights".

Hegseth will do fine as SecDef.
