This incident highlights a shocking level of incompetence. Sharing sensitive war plans with journalist Jeffrey Goldberg is an egregious mistake that underscores a lack of professionalism and accountability. I had previously argued that the Defense Secretary is incompetent, and this incident only serves to validate my point.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Top national security officials for President Donald Trump, including his defense secretary, texted war plans for upcoming military strikes in Yemen to a group chat in a secure messaging app that included the editor-in-chief for The Atlantic, the magazine reported in a story posted online Monday. The National Security Council said the text chain “appears to be authentic.”
Trump initially told reporters he was not aware that the highly sensitive information had been shared, 2 1/2 hours after it was reported. He later appeared to joke about the breach. Read more

The transition from being a 'parking lot lawyer' to holding such a significant legal office appears to be a leap made without substantial prosecutorial experience.
This seems to reflect a troubling trend of individuals securing high-profile positions despite lacking the relevant expertise, which can have far-reaching consequences for the integrity of our justice system. It seems that anyone who kisses Trump's ring gets promoted, regardless of their qualifications.
