An important aspect of this incident, is that this is not only a left wing issue, but now people generally considered right wing, gun owners, especially those that conceal carry, could see themselves in this man situation if LEO were being directed by a government lead by the other party. This was the kind of rhetoric all throughout the Obama years; “they are coming for your guns”. The man standing on his property a couple of days ago, with his AR-15 was also a visualization of this.

The VA nurse, who was killed, lost his life after stepping back when asked by ICE, being pepper sprayed, trying to help a woman up, and never brandishing a weapon.

If Schumer and Jeffries don’t rally votes, including across the aisle to rein this in, they are writing the end of at least Schumer’s political career, if not more of the corporate democrat party. And paving the way for DSA democrats that promise to stand up to the excesses.

This is why Dems need to clearly define their party platforms, without pushing the culture war stuff. There are many Dems from generally right of center majority areas that can appeal on principles while also not co-signing the culture war stuff.

That's why I don't know if this will translate into election success; they will keep voting GOP even after this, but at least I hope that they can back the DHS bill coming in the 31st and try to rein in a bit of this overzealous practice.

If the dem want to turn this into election gain, they will need to mobilse the independent who would otherwise not vote for Dem because of their gun control stance, but I am not holding my breathe that Schumer or Jefferies would try to go this route, if past experience is of any measurement, Schumer and co would most likely just fire a few jab at Trump and Goon and then basically let that slide.

Yeah, as I said before, this is the second time in this week the government had shut down 2A, there were a case SCOTUS just ruled 9:0 on behalf of the government agianst a person who had shot by LEO and have his gun confiscated when the LE enter his home without a warrant and that's because someone (I think it's the wife) call 911 and said the guy is about to commit suicide.

Guns right group already not liking that because they think it's 2A infringement and appalled that Trump stacked SCOTUS would rule this (they were thinking a 6:3 toward the person) 2A group was already on edge, and now this....
