John Bolton is a war-mongering ass. Had Trump listened to that stupid SOB during his first term, we would have been at war with most likely Iran. Bolton has a special hard-on for Iran as did his buddy John McCain.

I for one am glad Trump 2.0 pulled his security clearance.

Interestingly, I observed that you refrained from criticizing John Bolton for his analysis of Hegseth's outrageous remarks.

The question remains, though, why Trump chose Bolton as his national security adviser, given that any US political observer can tell that he is a war monger and, as you correctly pointed out, has long been an Iran hawk.

Regarding the conflict with Iran, the decision by the Trump administration to assassinate an Iranian general in 2020—likely at Netanyahu's urging— sharply escalated tensions between the U.S. and Iran, bringing them dangerously close to war.

According to a declassified report, the Trump administration acknowledges that assassinating an Iranian general could have triggered a war with Iran.

The doctor may be wrong.

I've been traveling and just got home. Will try to confirm later today if time allows. There was discussion of this last night. It was stated there are still a few universities with covid mandates. If true, and by the generic definition of "schools", the President is correct.

These are all excellent questions. As stated above to Yommie, I've just returned from traveling so will respond in more detail today. I will give an abbreviated to the highlighted.

When it comes to Washington politics, Trump 1.0 was about as naive as one could possibly get. It was likely strongly suggested to him that Bolton would be the ideal candidate with his vast experience. I am of the opinion a lot of Trump's picks during his first term were the result of being advised by Washington insiders. There are many reasons why those often aren't the best choices.

Not expanding on my comments regarding Bolton's criticism of Hegseth's comments were enough. I don't take seriously anything Bolton says. Had Trump kept him on, I am confident war would have happened.
