US to soon initiate Military support to Pakistan along with bi-lateral Trade growth, the Economist report

First things first. Pak negotiators must be credited for working out a good deal with USA. Field Marshall Asim Munir Wshould be complimented for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to DJT.

Sir, how do you feel about psychologically not being able to move on and transcend Pakistan, with it subsequently being used against you in tangible ways?

20 years of diplomatic effort, and you missed the trees for the forest, what was considered a demand on de-hyphenation in fact turned out to be a speakerphone of psychological weakness

They’ve realized that India will never sacrifice its own people to fight someone else’s war — no matter how hard they try to push.

India is acting purely in its own national interest, and now they’re frustrated because they can’t control that.

Hopefully US will end this H1B scam and stop the flood of Indians.

They already have too much leverage in their politics. This will all need to be reversed.

Pakistan was at the front lines during the cold war immediately after its birth. History will remember us as one of the protectors of the free world.

India promised the US in 2000 they would overtake China by 2025 and demanded geopolitical favour against Pakistan. Looks like that was a ruse to lure in US investment. Users and abusers.

Remember the days when they had 13 "embassies" in Afghanistan, US support, funded projects and had literally 20 years to outflank Pakistan?

This is how incompetent these clowns are

@r3alist bro

There is no hyphenation. Both IND and PAK have unique strengths and attributes which bring them to the table. IND has a large market and a large number of head bobbing code coolies. PAK offers military strength, strategic nous and a geographical locational advantage.

In 2010 I was fearing the worst.

Pakistan was engulfed in proxy warfare as India had full authority in Afghanistan under Karzai with full US support.

Ties with the west and US at an all time low. Constant accusations and "do more". Intelligence sharing pulled. Threats of balkanization. I remember one of the US generals sharing a balkanized map of Pakistan.

At that time US was falling into the Indian way of thinking and seeing the region through their lens. India even managed to convince them that not only they would defeat China, they will become the net security provider to the region.

Safe to say the yanks have now finally realised Indians are accountants, IT nerds. They are not warfighters or a responsible mature military force.

India spent 2 decades of political capital to isolate Pakistan.....you say the above now

Should have known from the start

Or...

Maybe India have played smart, insisted USA needs to isolate Pakistan to placate India

This is destined to remain unfulfilled

So India has the reason to distance from USA

This is ok as long as USA indulge soft approach, now it's coercion

If India is seeing with the right lenses, Pakistan offers it billions of dollars in profits yearly, additional IT subcontract labor advantage with the same language skills, a tourism destination, and much more.

And in a few years, a big, 5th largest market because we are the 5th largest populated country now ready to start taking off economically.

True. Refer to my post above yours.

This realization should've been explained to them when $3 Trillion worth of American economy was being asked from Clinton to grow India to fight China....... at that time you guys only promised to fight China and be an all weather American ally. That's why Trump is tripping now. Because if they had kept that economy internally, their debt and money problems will be much less today.
When this happened?

When india promised it?

Can you please give any example with the source or statement from the india?

Actually, in 2000 india promised the americans that they would overtake China BEFORE the start of 2020.

@Raj-Hindustani

Let me explain to you the Pak POV.

India didn't become the outsourcing hub for the IT industry of the West, because it had a large number of skilled IT personnel available at low cost. It was because USA wanted to prop up a counter to PRC.
The West didnt invest billions of dollars in FDI in India because it was a large market or that it offered good returns. It was invested to build up IND as a military counter to PRC.

Hope that explains.

Yup, many were fearing the worst back then, was open talk of "securing" Pakistan's "strategic assets", breaking up the country, sure the US and India has plans.

They had their chance.

Now let us see what happens to India. My feeling is unless you are very closely aligned with one of the two power blocs (China or US) you are on the chopping bloc

Think EU, India and Russia will be the losers in this great game. If US and China do come to some grand bargain, unless you are very close ally, you will be screwed.

Rules of the game are changing almost by the week it seems

He mentions IT subcontracting towards the end.

If Pakistan works hard they can push up their IT exports to $20 billion and beyond very rapidly. It's there for the the taking.

Sindh and Punjab can produce solid IT workers in mass quantities.

@Yasser76

Thanks for sharing the full article.

@Dalit bro

Pakistan isn't a member of QUAD or any other alliance. Pakistan cannot be held responsible for maintaining good relations with China and the US.

Isn't Pakistan a non-NATO ally?

Regards

Almost meaningless term, no real benefits to it unless US is in a good mood
