USA Deportations news

uninformed BS, I live in red state. I have seen anti ICE protests and agitators and many people have been arrested for interfering with ICE enforcement. The difference is ICE operations have surged in Minnesota in terms of agent volume, the highest in the country. Also, the mode of operation in Minnesota is 'at large' arrest vs custodial enforcement in RED states. In Minnesota ICE agents go into communities to find illegal aliens while in RED states ICE use local law enforcement to take illegal immigrants into custody. When Federal agents go into communities where people don't know and trust them you will see push back from the community.
Some of my co-workers went to couple of protests one was I think (No King) in downtown Tampa/St Pete, as far as I know Florida is very very red state.

it's not that simple. Local law enforcement rely on community support to function using them to enforce immigration will cause that to erode. The next objection is the Tenth Amendment which clearly states Federal Law enforcement is to be done by Federal Agents not state. Then there is also the question of acting without a judicial warrant that leaves local law enforcement exposed to legal issues and local LEO do not have the same protections as agents of the federal government. A sensible administration would have created a workable legal frame work for local participation. But then what do you expect from the Secretary of Homeland security who doesn't even know the meaning of habeas corpus.
Many people don't really understand how Law Enforcement works.

It's ALWAYS about trust. especially in the United States, because there is a magic word you can say and it stops cooperation with the local population.

Over enforcement erode trust from the public, and people hide things; they don't have an obligation to talk to Law Enforcement, and you can't function as Law Enforcement if your local people do not trust you, because they tell you shit, and you go blind, on a good day which mean nothing is done, on a bad day it mean they are not going to tell you that you are stepping into a trap.

There is a reason why there is high crime rate in the US compare to other country, it's not because the US lack of Law Enforcement officer, it's because people don't trust Law Enforcement, in Australia, we practice Community Policing, which does not mean the community police themselves, but it's about Community-Police engagement, the worse city in Oz is better than the best city in the US, because number and enforcement can only lead to a fixed result, without community support, your Law Enforcement Agent can only control the land they are stepping on, because you simply can't be everywhere at once.

Trump is sending Tom Homan to Minneapolis to manage operations on the ground:

yeah, throwing napalm on a bonfire would DEFINITELY solve the problem.

If Trump is smart, it's time to disengage. This is a very bad optics killing that dude, adding oil to the fire will only antagonise the population, and this is not a state ops this is a federal op, it will look like the Federal Government losing control of the city.

It's time to pull back, disengage, let the people wind down a bit, not wound up people even more; they are just going to push back more.

Want to avoid getting shot? Don't approach Fed agents armed that have been attacked for enforcing federal immigration law. This is what demonrats want like tampon tim and frey but all they are going to get is troops on the streets and federal charges for inciting and fraud.
another way to avoid getting shot is not having poorly trained trigger happy Fed agents on the street.

It feels like everyone is on the edge, even group chats (co-workers) all American born people have a sense of fear to make fun of Govt or say the wrong thing, wonder if it was always like that in US?
everyone needs to calm down and let people breath, there is time for politics, and looks like right now its time for sane minds to prevail.

You assume the agent was poorly trained.

City of Mesa PD had a situation a number of years ago with one of their officers. In the end, the poster child for someone you did NOT want to be a cop.

Had a situation with a drunk at a hotel one night. Drunk wasn't cooperating then again, the officers on scene were yelling different orders to the drunk. Supervising sergeant on scene was too incompetent to get control of his officers. The cop I mention above was a known hothead; had plenty of complaints against him. I watched one video where he picked up a teenager in a convenience and body slammed the kid on the ground. There was no justification to that. Also, and I knew guys who served with him in the NG; they didn't want to work with him either because he was a known hothead.

Anyway, supervising sergeant finally figures it out and get the drunk goes to lay down. The drunk then attempts to get up and the hothead cop shoots him 3 times in the back killing him.

At the trial, it was learned the hothead used his own personal AR. It's allowed under department policy. It was also learned he had a personalized message engraved on the inside of the dustcover. Something to the effect of "UR F*cked". Trial ended, he weaseled out of being convicted, and was released from the force. He later sued, and the City settled, for PTSD. He received some amount of money for that.

Because I have quite a few friends, as well as a couple neighbors, who are cops, I tend to be pro-law enforcement. Am not suggesting in the least all cops are good. As written above, far from the case. Especially that one.

I am going to wait until all of the facts come out. Again, some of you are basing your opinions based on what you are being shown. Another group I'm a member of is made up of mostly retired NYPD. They are seeing a different picture here.

Not going to disagree. The President did run a campaign to release and now he's been forced to do so. Why? Besides the usual responses that will come from the herd here of course.

As I say, if one side is bad, the other is even worse.

Unless It's Trump intention to cause civil unrest (which would be VERY BAD in term of optics), it makes no sense at all to continue antagonising the population, law and politics CANNOT, I will say this again, CANNOT mix, they don't even let the agent to use their toliet, of course nobody is going to tell these agent anything, and how many agent they got in ther? 1000? How do you go around the entire state and try to do anything if the Local LE and Local population won't talk to you with a thousand agents? Well, Good Luck with that.

A smart move is retreat now, come back when things die down, and stop wounding people up. Come back in a smaller group and re-insert back to the state and do low profile run, but that would involve Trump growing a brain. Fat chance this will happen

One thing you're probably not aware of is these "protests" are fairly well organized. Lots of chatter out there they are using Signal Chat to communicate and direct people. Both Renee Good and now this individual received instructions on how to follow ICE and relay their whereabouts.

These are not spontaneous protests. These are being organized and managed.

Like the one on Jan 6th? I saw a documentary on Jan 6th attack on Congress being organized and the protestors come prepared with shields and weapons/sprays etc ? Either way I don't think few random Americans going to protest (not me) against a govt they think doesn't represent them is not illegal nor against US constitution. As far as violence go, its not unique in US protests often turned violent specially when there are counter protestors.

I would say many people who are neither left nor right would say they don't mind illegals specially criminals getting apprehended but its the way they are being caught, I have seen videos and read many comments where people are often mad at the way ICE is employing to catch these people, sometimes people with valid Asylum cases which are pending in courts, I've see videos of people being caught by ICE when they are at US immigration office/court whatever for their hearings, wonder if that is legal? There has to be a better way to do this, now I am no police or riot control guy but even I think that there has to be a better way to de-escalate things.

It's not about rounding up and deporting illegal immigrants; it's about HOW they round up and deport illegal immigrants.

Case in point, are you, yourself, afraid of being detain by ICE? I remember correctly you told me you did. The thing is, you went there legally, and you are afraid of being rounded up and deported? That's not right.

The thing is, you may not count because you can't vote, but for every one of you, there are a few people who can. Your wife, for example, and her family, would they and your family vote for Trump if they were US citizens? Or will they vote for Trump or whoever comes after him, going after the same thing he stands for?

The motto of Law Enforcement is "Protect and Serve," which DOES NOT mean the government, Philadelphia PD is not there to protect and serve the Pennsylvania government; it's there to protect and serve its people, and they are losing trust in the people.

And let me tell you which Police Department protect and serve the country, China.

What you said is true, although my co-worker group is 70% left leaning but 2-3 are more central or little bit right but not to a point of where they would want a legal immigrant to be caught up or feel threatened.

to your point of my personal case, yes I came here legally and as of 2026 this is my 6th year in USA, not a single dime ever taken in Aid/assistance (not that I see anything wrong but not needed and should go to people in need), not a single crime/traffic violation, paid taxes every year with no hidden assets, work my booty off to get to this point where i am financially (thanks for recent promotion), but when I contacted 4 attorney's about starting processing for naturalization, they did not say "No" outright but implied that I should wait if not until next election but till mid-terms, And I got no clue to what Should I do? I came here legally, my marriage lasted for more than 6 years before we got divorce (on very good terms, no fight over money or alimony) and just like that whole life is put in stand-by to what will happen? My same Friends told me not to do as ICE is picking up people from immigration courts, they care and their fear for my safety is what i find it supportive but sad at the same time, is that what America has come to that even legal migrants have to live or apply for their naturalization in fear? And on top of that recently Trump banned legal immigrant from Pakistan, he on record saying he will come for naturalized citizen next so what on earth someone should do?

I wanna buy a house, I wanna do things but idk if i should when I don't know that I have a future here despite done everything legally and follow every US immigration law by the dot.

Honestly, even if I could vote I might have withheld my vote due to no agreeing on both Trump/Kamala, same between Biden/Trump and Trump & Clinton. My ex-in laws were fully Republicans, in fact for them it was such a shock that I was able to came here legally under Trump, one of the reason they let their daughter marry me was they were sure that this won't work because Trump will never let a Pakistani brown man from a Moslem country to enter USA, I mean talk about living in the bubble of their own.. People who have families here who are US citizen they have genuine concern about who their families vote, and all these people adds up to the voter count, as for me I am just alone here trying to build a life haha starting from scratch.

I notice a very subtle resentment in people towards police, I respect cops for their work no doubt specially here in USA, dealing with crazy Karen's, domestic violence, mental illness, violent crimes, and worse of all those Sovereign citizen Bullshitters(God they annoy me). But Almost everyone I talk to those who are even right leaning have very suspicious view of cops, from using words like Gangs, to pigs, to pedo protectors, Nazi's, fascists, murderers and many more, its insane.
