'We Will Find You And We Will Deport You': Noem Releases Ad Warning Illegal Immigrants To Leave U.S.

Good old school trick.
Do they have concealed carry in your state?
Absolutely we have concealed carry. Further, there was an amendment to the State Constitution. Now have Constitutional Carry. No permit required to carry concealed. I still maintain my permit for other reasons.

Good man, there's only one thing that should be going through the mind of a would be rapist/mugger/car jacker/murder, that's a 9mm round. The only choice they should have is between a 9m, 40SW or 45ASP.

It really depends on the person who carry it.

The last thing you want is for you to have a gun battle in a busy street between an untrained civilian and a would-be assailant who care about nothing. This is extremely dangerous to the bystander.

You can't assume everyone carrying in the US are trained, let alone well trained. I used to be a cop, and I saw first hand how stupid sometime people are, once I got call out by a shot-fired called, it's because some wannabe Rambo trying to carry his rifle "Rack Safe" style (It's something how we were taught to carry rifle in the special force) and ended up shooting himself on the foot.

Yet, on the flip side, as a former cop you know as well as I do there are any number of street cops whose own firearms handling skills are questionable at best.

I shoot with a number of cops and in matches will routinely beat most of them. Because A: they are not gun guys and B: most of their "training" is limited to qualification day(s) depending on the department. The cops I don't beat are the ones who do train regularly or are former .mil and they of course do train regularly.

A friend of mine is also former USMC. He ran the range for years with Maricopa County Sheriff's Office prior to retiring to join the County DA investigation unit. He had horror stories of deputies coming to the range for qual day and their weapon handling skills.

I on the other hand train regularly and with several different platforms / calibers as that is what is in my EDC rotation. Makes no sense to have an EDC weapon if you don't train with it.

FWIW, I have also earned my Distinguished Rifleman tab from the CMP as well as being classified as Master in three different disciplines by the NRA.

Cops don't generally shoot gun good, because that mean range time, and most of them don't do range time since there are 1600 thousand things you need to do, in fact, I would say 75-80% of cops won't fire their weapon in anger in their entire career, compare it to around 15% in the military (only counted those who deployed)

Cops train on situational awareness. Things like looking at corner and suss out whether or not you have a clear line of fire. There are a lot of rules dictate how a LEO engage a suspect and most of the time you hear about the term "good shoot" coming from that, if a police officer weren't 100% certain, they won't fire as it should be. and the one that did usually end up in jail or got dismissed.

But yes, most cop don't shoot really good, if you put a cop in an Army Rifle Q Course (23/40 target within 300 yards) they probably will fail miserably.

recently saw video of a state trooper trying to take the gun from a driver who had been stopped and voluntarily exited the vehicle and had informed the cops that he had a gun in his trousers. She simply mishandled it while taking it out (no resistance whatsoever) and shot the poor guy's foot.
