USA Weather Alert and Warnings Thread

Just ventured out the house. A pic of our driveway right now. Unfortunately, due to the trees blocking the sun, it will remain frozen for days. We could risk driving on it but only if we have to.

That is not bad, actually. If needed, a set of snow chains can get through that with no problems.

There are patches in the middle which are really bad because they never get any sun at all, and also water accumulates there and become thick ice, and where I had to almost crawl on yesterday walking. Today I didn't go that far. But, you are right, snow chains would do. Actually, if we had to, then we would try without the snow chain but only if we had to.
In past, when we knew we had to get out of the house for jobs or medical needs, we would park the car at the street level.

Meanwhile, us crazies have fun in the north! :D

Laughs in Canadian.

Jokes aside, that looks pretty ok but I might not be gauging the correct extent from the picture. Salt will help. Are you driving a RWD twin-turbo V8? Beautiful driveway, btw.

Yes, it might appear to be nothing too bad but the middle of the driveway is really bad where we slipped several times in the past driving on and that's why when we had to, we started parking at street level to get out the house. But my guess, nothing to those who are used to much snow/ice--it's just we are not used to! But I am getting a cabin fever and venture out to the store this afternoon.
Our vehicles are the good old small Toyota Yaris! Imagine the 'power' on them! Haha!

Always smart to be safe.

Grab some bags of salt or ice melter when you go out. Also, I've seen these "tire chains" in stores. Seem quick and easy to put on for limited use. Probably won't last for longer drives.
