To their surprise Vietnamese banks have no protection at all. Open space, no security guards, no bulletproof windows, money in unlocked containers.
Accept petty theft and other criminal offenses, the crime rate in Vietnam is low. There is no need to protection measure. Police forces, arny personnels, security guards are generally banned in public spaces.

interesting to know about the Viet people in Laos
basically there are 3 groups of migrant workers
(1) unskilled workers receive a salary about 11 million ($417) a month, they mostly are hired by Vietnamese companies. housing, water, electricity are free. salary is paid in USD. Laotian unskilled workers receive much less, 4 million a month.
(2) skilled workers as technician, engineer receive up to $2,000 a month.
(3) free farmers, businesspeople. they earn lots more. work more, earn more.
in short, Vietnamese earn more money than in Viet Nam, they face less competition, because majority of Laotians simply lack of basic skill, lack of mechanics, lack of capitalism spirit,

Within the framework of the 36th Session of the Intergovernmental Coordinating Committee (ICC) on the Vietnam–Russia Tropical Center, the flag-raising ceremony for Ship 889–Professor Gagarinsky took place on the afternoon of December 1 in Hai Phong. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defence, Chairman of the Vietnamese Subcommittee and Co‑Chairman of the ICC on the Vietnam–Russia Tropical Center, presided over the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony on the Vietnamese side were the Vice Chairmen and Members of the Vietnamese Subcommittee; leaders of the Navy Command; and the Board of Directors of the Vietnam–Russia Tropical Center. On the Russian Federation side were Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Subcommittee and Co‑Chairman of the ICC on the Vietnam–Russia Tropical Center; officials from the Russian Embassy in Vietnam; representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; along with representatives from relevant ministries, sectors, and units.
