I don’t know I just tell from my opinion.
That’s internal fighting. Nothing special, always the case. The one with most votes wins. To Lam will retire in some time in the future then there will be another one.

Why are you concerned of the southern faction? Vietnam relationship to China, Cambodia is in the best shape ever. Yes, there are differences with China, with Cambodia but we try to keep things calm.
As said even the southerners care most of economic wellbeing. Since the MAGA comes into power, even hardcore conservatives in Saigon are shocked by what happens in the US. The economy is not bright overall, lots of people struggling.
