The risk is real. there is strong anti communist sentiment in ASEAN, the US, Japan and Korea but I think as long as Vietnam is neutral we are safe. Otherwise we are on the same level with Cuba, Iran and Venezuela so Vietnam military buildup is necessary though, just in case.

China is a big elephant that’s another level. and there is risk of nuclear escalation so the US will not cross out of own survival instinct. The MAGA will not attack China. Vietnam, China relationship is complicated, is another story.

And Vietnam cannot abandon the free state-capitalism with socialist characteristics that is being championed by China right now.

Unless you want to give up your fast rate growth for some intangible lip service of democrazy.
