VinFast has just announced the delivery of more than 12,100 electric cars to customers in March 2025, bringing the total number of cumulative cars sold in the first quarter of 2025 in Vietnam to more than 35,100 cars. This number is more than 4 times higher than the same period last year (about 8,000 cars) and maintains its position as the number 1 car company in the market.
Meanwhile, in the US, VinFast also continues to have stable growth. According to data from CarEdge, the electric car brand from Vietnam sold 525 units in the first quarter of 2025 with two main models, VF 8 and VF 9.
In 2024, VinFast sold a total of 2,679 cars in California, the leading business location in the US, an increase of nearly 6 times compared to the same period last year. This sales helped VinFast surpass a series of electric car names from Lucid, Polestar, Hummer, Genesis, Acura.
Earlier this year, the US newspaper AutoBlog also revealed that the VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 electric car duo will hit the market in 2025, products aimed at the popular electric vehicle segment.
"Vietnamese automaker VinFast promises to make waves with its VF 6 and VF 7 models. These compact crossovers are designed to appeal to budget-conscious buyers. Prices start at just $30,000 for the VF 6, and $37,000 for the VF 7," Autoblog reported.
According to Autoblog, in addition to their affordable prices, these two models have modern designs and many notable features to compete in the growing US electric vehicle market. With a pricing strategy aimed at first-time car buyers, VinFast is expected to expand its market share in the global electric vehicle market by 2025.
Thus, after VF 8 and VF 9, VF 6 and VF 7 are expected to be the next two electric car models sold by VinFast in the US. In fact, this duo has been spotted testing on American streets recently. In addition, the vehicle's specifications have also appeared on the VinFast US website. Accordingly, both VF 6 and VF 7 in the US market have 2 versions Eco and Plus similar to the Vietnamese market.
VinFast's US dealer system currently has over 25 locations, covering 13 states, including California, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, New York, Kansas, Connecticut and Kentucky.
In addition, VinFast also provides car rental services, in line with the trend of renting first, buying later of American consumers. The company has cooperated with US Bank, Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and other financial institutions to support this service.
With outstanding sales in the domestic and international markets, VinFast is on a favorable path towards its goal of doubling the number of vehicles delivered this year compared to 2024.
