Tell is about APPLICATIONS. I.e. what proportion of the folks standing in the queue are Indian? Of course, not everyone in the queue gets the green card, particularly with the country caps now in place. But Indians still dominate the applications pool, hence they are waiting and waiting and waiting in that queue just to escape their incredible home country.

Walked up to a Hispanic driver, waiting. Told him to give me his cellphone.

Hotshot, delivering equipment to a plant in Tulsa. Had to be there by 7:00am.

During the DHL days, there was a posting in Basel for which I was extremely well-qualified for. Mrs. AZ was excited for the idea until she remembered the grandkids were little at that time. Facetime wasn't going to cut it.
Before that, I had an offer for a 3-5 year contract in Al Manama. On that one she was clear: I'd be going by myself.
