Just like Ukraine shifted the domain of war towards drones and made life hell for russian forces, a war strategist would have done the same in this thread. You are correct but in this thread we were not discussing war strategy. If you want, we could certainly discuss that, let me put war strategist hat on.![]()
War strategy is part of IAF discussion and relevant to the thread. It isn't separate.
There are so many points like.
Multi-Domain Operations including Cyber and Electronic Warfare (EW)as well as Network-Centric Warfare (NCW).
Then Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) drones communicating with pilots in mid-air.
IAF Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh noted that the IAF requires an influx of 36 to 40 new fighter jets annually (roughly two full squadrons per year) just to halt the decline, which is difficult to reach.
Then the gap between the IAF's 29 operational fighter squadrons and its sanctioned mandate of 42 creates a functional deficit of approximately 200 to 250 combat aircraft. This makes fighting a conventional two-front war against China and Pakistan simultaneously difficult using a traditional symmetric approach.
and so much more.
