From my experience, and I lived on both coasts and the middle, Minnesota to Texas, the nicest people I met were in Oklahoma and Texas.

I think generally, people outside of the major metro areas, are much nicer, if one were to generalize. New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, et al, not so much. And even there, the worst is probably in a few parts, and the suburbs are generally nice, if one has a nice community to interact with.

It is a two way street. Smiles work far better than scowls, and guess what desis like to do more.

I am happy to be without the responsibility of the rules being applied equally to everyone, which was just not possible in this environment. However, I must remain respectful of the management's right to run their forum as they see fit. I am grateful for the opportunity given, and we shall remain on the best of terms I am sure.

I am proud to have done a thankless job as fairly as I could, and even prouder that I have not compromised on my principles of fair play and rule of law. Not ever, not now, and never in the future.

I look forward to continuing to participate as a general member on equal footing with everyone else. Hypocrisy is anathema to me. WYSIWYG with me, always.

You were not a fair mod, especially in the Chinese section, and you suck upto white people.

Also, you acted as if AI were the mod, not a human being with emotions who can judge situations with a human mind.

Joe is another biased mod with an egomaniacal personality, and I believe he should voluntarily 'resign,' for lack of a better word.

I hope Legend comes back or someone who's good. Eagle was a good mod too back in the day, even though he banned me like 3-4 times more than anyone. But he wasn't biased, just following the rules

I don't really know him but from what I see from behind the scenes he is a very reasonable person and doesn't take any action lightly and acts to the highest ethical standards (even reporting some posts instead of dealing with them himself to avoid perception of conflict of interest, which I hope he doesn't mind me saying @Joe Shearer)

To be fair, it is not always intentional.

I remember an incident from school days: bunch of us desi guys were exchanging come hither looks with a group of girls. Finally a blonde comes over and asks my friend for a cigarette. Our man tries to put on his best seductive smile but the scrunching thick eyebrows -- not a unibrow by a long shot -- send the wrong message and the poor girl said meekly that she would pay him for the cigarette.

We didn't stop teasing him about it for weeks. LOL.

Yes "let it be" is C major, but similar chord progression as found in pachelbel. i.e reference point changes but note/chord distance and sequencing similar.

The underlying chord progression is very popular and pleasing to the ear. I've mentioned the 12 bar blues a number of times as well here (its a chord progression, the chord key can be selected anywhere).

But keeping everything key and progression same (D major and the progression in pachelbel), the particular song I was referencing from my high school days used the very popular:

D A Bm G

Which is basically shortened pachelbel canon D heh (D A Bm F#m G D G A)

You see, one of our best rock bands (we had about 3 in total) in HS would often be practicing in music room of 1st floor, if you were in that vicinity but just far enough away, you could hear just the bass line, of "with or without you"...

That was the song they would be practising pretty much all year one year or two... to get perfect. That wonderful sound (D A Bm G) always has resonated within me since alongside the greater flourish of it in Pachelbel's masterpiece.

you only resolve the key is D-major in the middle of the song main message (referencing Noah's ark and much else).... when the E minor chord finally kicks in.

D major is indeed a thing of great beauty when employed well....and yes U2 is one of my favourite bands of all time too heh.

Joe is a balanced moderator in my opinion although he sometimes gets into the 'grumpy old man' mode with some people, LOL.
