1950 Nov 27
Wawon, east of Kunu-ri, North Korea
The Battle of Wawon occurred from 27 to 29 November 1950, near Wawon in present-day North Korea, as part of the Korean War. Following the collapse of the US Eighth Army's right flank during the Battle of the Ch'ongch'on River, the Chinese People's Volunteer Army (PVA) 38th Corps advanced towards the critical road junction at Kunu-ri to cut off United Nations forces. The Turkish Brigade, newly arrived and assigned as the reserve of the US IX Corps, was tasked with delaying the Chinese advance. On 26 November, the Turkish Brigade mistakenly engaged a column of South Korean soldiers, resulting in casualties on both sides. By the night of 27 November, the Turkish Brigade established a defensive perimeter in Wawon, where they faced the PVA 114th Division, which launched concentrated attacks against their positions.
On 28 November, the Turkish defenders engaged in fierce combat, suffering approximately 400 casualties as they fought to maintain their positions against the encroaching Chinese forces. As the situation deteriorated, Brigadier General Tahsin Yazıcı ordered a withdrawal to Sinim-ri, but the brigade was soon cut off by the PVA, leading to further isolation and heavy fighting. Despite running low on ammunition, the Turkish Brigade continued to resist until a timely airstrike allowed them to escape encirclement. By the end of the battle, the brigade was fragmented, with significant losses in personnel and equipment. The remnants of the Turkish Brigade regrouped with the US 2nd Infantry Division at Kunu-ri, but continued to face renewed attacks from the PVA, which ultimately led to their further disarray and the exposure of the US right flank.
On 29 November, the PVA 114th Division, having linked with the 112th Division, launched renewed assaults against the Turkish Brigade and the US 38th Infantry Regiment. The Turkish forces, now in retreat, struggled to maintain cohesion as they faced overwhelming Chinese numbers. The PVA successfully outflanked the Turks, leading to a chaotic withdrawal that left the Turkish Brigade effectively destroyed as a fighting unit, with approximately 20 percent of its personnel becoming casualties. The battle exemplified the challenges faced by UN forces in the Korean War and highlighted the critical role of the Turkish Brigade in delaying the PVA advance, allowing for the safe withdrawal of other UN units.
You have nothing to do with Xiongu though. We only recognize DNA test reports.
For example, Hungarians also talk about their association with the Xiongnu, but Chinese people are not angry. Because the DNA of Hungarians proves that they do have 15% East Asian steppe ancestry. In the historical narratives of countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, their historical relationship with the Xiongnu is also promoted, and their DNA contains 40% of East Asian grassland genes, so we also acknowledge it.
The Turkish ambitions pose no threat to China. We don't care because they have not threaten our strength and potential. What we care about is a group of Greek descendants who were conquered by the Turks and are tarnishing a branch of Chinese civilization.
The Turks' behavior is similar to that of a group of Indians who claimed that they were Anglo Saxons and defeated China in the Opium War.
You have nothing to do with Xiongu though.
Turkish flags always waved by Turks all over.
Grey Wolf sign, you know what that is, yeah?

Didnt this all happen after Ghengis Khan? Because Ghengis Khan conquered China from West Xia to the land of the Jin and beyond the Wall. He invaded Northern China and took a lot of cities and attacked Beijing.
But yeah, according to CCP the person of Ghengis Khan never existed and its just fantasy.
Genghis Khan destroyed the Jin Dynasty with 60 million of population with the peasantry mostly Han Chinese, but its ruling elites were mostly Jurchens.
By that time, China's artillery/powder technologies were fully spread to Europe via the Mongol Empire.
And it was his grandson Kublai Khan who fully destroyed the Southern Song Dynasty with 100 million population where both peasantry and ruling class were Han Chinese.
And during Kublai Khan era, the Mongol Empire was split into 4 parts, he controlled the Yuan Dynasty in China.
Although the Han Chinese were fully enslaved by the Mongols during the Yuan Dynasty, but it was still part of China's history, just like the Golden Hordes era was also a undeniable part of Russia's history.
The ruling clan of the Xiongnu was the Luandi (Luan-ti) clan, which supplied the Chanyus (Xiongnu supreme rulers), including figures such as Touman and Modu (Maodun) Chanyu. The Luandi were regarded in Chinese sources as the ruling dynasty of the Xiongnu, not as a Han Chinese family. The Xiongnu royal family and the aristocracy were Han Chinese.
After the downfall of the Xia Dynasty by the Shang Dynasty in China, some nobles of the Xia Dynasty fled to the grasslands and began to integrate the wild people of various tribes on the grasslands, eventually forming the Xiongnu. The Xiongnu are the grassland branch of Chinese civilization. That's why Chinese people strongly dislike a group of conquered Greeks impersonating the Xiongnu.

Please stop stealing our history. No Turk claims Han Empire or whatever as Turk, so you shouldn't do the same.
Thanks.

The Han people were indeed conquered by the Mongols and Manchus, but we are the ultimate victors. The hardships of the past are our badge of glory, a testament to our courage to make a comeback time and time again. These descendants of slaves who impersonate slave owners cannot understand true morality and glory.
They live in a false historical narrative, which is why they believe that Chinese people will modify history and even do not understand Genghis Khan and Huang Taiji. Because they are using their own experiences to fantasize about the experiences of Chinese people.
Even Indians consider colonial history a shame and do not consider themselves descendants of the British, but they take pride in the history of the rape of the conquered.
We cannot teach them that just because a woman is raped by 14 men does not mean that the families of these 14 men will recognize her as an automatic family member. Her DNA doesn't lie.
Lol, they might actually think Turkey is like a "superpower" more powerful than China. They have the second largest number of foreign military bases after the US. That's why they are constantly trying to challenge China that is 6000 km away. Not in the same league. Not worth a peer-level response.
As netizens have said, a country with a moon on its flag is comparing its technology, military, economy, and historical continuity with a country that has a flag on the moon.Lol, they might actually think Turkey is like a "superpower" more powerful than China.
