Who Created Harappan / Indus Valley Civilisation? | How Did It End? | Samvaad With Devdutt Pattanaik

Story lacks credibility even then. What happened to their caucusus mountains, revered steppe land. Where's that story about their origin. Why not one steppe Aryan mentioned anything not even a word about their homeland heck not even about region outside Iran. When all texts are about this land, the rivers, mountains, valleys. Why these Aryans simply forgot their homeland and decided to cosplay as IVC people. Never heard of an invader who fully assimilated their culture into oblivion.
Really?

Ever heard of a fertile crescent civilisation called the Hittites? They were believed to be a thriving civilisation in the Bronze Age, controlling territory of numerous peer civilisations, including the Egyptians. They suddenly vanished! Their remnants probably assimilated into neighbouring civilisations.

Never mind that, the civilisation being discussed ad nauseam on this thread, the IVC, also suddenly vanished as a physical entity! Only their genome remains in various descendant groups.

One may speculate on the original Steppe-landers but we do know that their genome (Aryan DNA) is far more prominent globally than we have even discussed hitherto. R1a haplogroup is certainly prominent among eastern european slavs, for example.

They genuinely did seem to emerge from the Black Sea and spread their seed far and wide.

The Artan culture was not assimilated but rather imposed, displacing the original IVC culture.
The Europeans invaded North America. Did they assimilate into the native population or did they super-impose their culture on the Native Americans?

In one rare case the invaders did fully assimilate their religion ( and some culture) into oblivion. The Mongols after their military defeats married and assimilated into the culture of the Central Asian populations and renounced their Tengerist beliefs to convert to the faith of the population they conquered. There is only one other example of that happening which is the case of the Roman assimilation into the population they had subjugated after these populations adopted Christianity.

Still doesn't explain why none of them ever talks about their 'homeland'. Despite detailing in four texts about what happened here. Not one text about their homeland. You have to understand it's their most sacred texts they called people who cannot do as it says correctly, mlechchas and yet their text doesn't even talk about any events outside this realm. Hence why I said these are result of people who mixed with locals, the result created what is RV. Local customs, local cultures.

That is not scientific

Well the penny drops, keep religious texts out of it so archaeology does not become like communal India.

More so if you are a continent away in distance, which most Indians are

Hitites did not vanish. They were defeated by Egyptians and Assyrians. Plus epidemics ravaged their country

It should comes from someone who knows what he is talking about. Anyone can write a glorified fanfiction doesn't make it real. None of his insinuations are based on historical or archeological facts.
Also is this the Same Hindustan some post named Iqbal talked about?
Oh the tejomahalya story was fake?

Ancient Pakistan called Indus is one of the oldest civilizations in the world.

I don't think any country as of yet can claim or should claim the IVC, the most toxic element of this discussion which should just be historical inquiry is a communal aspect that anything Hindu is contemporary India and even let's say bjp or RSS.

But these guys need to be ridiculed and sidelined from the discussion, we cannot let historical inquiry become polluted just because some people believe history is frozen in time and does not progress.

But this is being slowly eroded away

There is of course a tricky and ironic situation where these texts might have their origins in current day Pakistan.

And therefore then Pakistan can claim them as part of it s territorial heritage.
