Why Rafales and not Su57 chosen

Where is the contract, how the heck do you know the deliver date from signing, how the heck do you know tata is going to assemble from 2032 let alone number per year, boy.

The defence ministry (MoD) has allocated an additional Rs 1,500 crore to the Tejas Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme, boosting its projected Rs 14,047 crore budget. The additional amount will be spent on a production line for Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd to build 20 fighters that Indian Air Force (IAF) has ordered for its first Tejas squadron. The IAF has also promised another order for 20 more Tejas for its second squadron. Once the improved Mark II Tejas is developed, the IAF will field 6-7 Tejas squadrons (120-140 fighters).
This need for additional money arises from the failure of HAL, a public sector aerospace monopoly, to establish a production line that can build at least 8 Tejas fighters a year. The production line that HAL set up two years ago on the priceless real estate that it holds in the heart of Bangalore has not yet produced a single Tejas fighter.

Single crystals with no grain boundaries have been around for the better half of a century. Every freshman engineering student learns about them.

Btw, did India destroy those HAS that contians fighter jets? If not then its not considered as decimated air base. Damaged yes decimated no.
Circa 1987/88.. A certain western jet engine manufacturer came up with the process. Used wax blades coated with various slurries to make the mould for single crystal blades.
The process was initially perfected in their research foundry before moving into full scale production. Robotic arms were used in their research foundry for the dipping and coating process to make the moulds. Wax was then melted out and a specific alloy used for the blade..
Any more info would reveal my age and background.. which I would prefer not to..

Im not sure why some members are acting like folks on indian defence forums where you simply cannot have a civil educated discussion on a military topic. I understand that its probably the reason in itself.
However, lets stay above that. Our defence and sports forums are historically qualitatively better.
On the topic:
I feel like SAFRAN is a huge deal. When the whole kaveri fiasco was getting highlighted by indian social media, i was afraid that what if they resume the project but thankfully it wasnt. Good for us. But now through safran if indians do end up getting their own indigeneous engines that means their AMCA will be very beneficial for them.
The downsides are the timelines, by the time you guys reach that point, the world would have moved to 6th gen fighters.
You are just very late to the game and are running against the clock. And indian defence industry especially in airforce projects has a very poor history of timely completion of projects. So lets see.
For now, india was pushed to a corner and the only choice they had was the Rafale.
The moment Pakistan gets the J-35, you will be qualitatively inferior again substantially. Btw they have refused to provide you source code info, how do you plan to integrate Astra then?

The Su57 is still being pushed hard by Russia .
The Russians have been to Nashik in India to see what changes need to be made to start manufacturing of Su57 in India ...This is were su30mki were built last two decades
They claim 50% of the facilities can be used to build the fifth generation fighters...
The cost of. Su57 is about 50% of the Rafale but Indian concern is the high operating maintenance costs over three decades ..of russian fighters
Su57 most likely is stealthier but the Rafale F4 and F5 has better sensors and superior networking and is already inter operating with Indian other platforms
