I would gladly pick being a vassal of the greatest superpower humanity has created thus far over India the biggest sheethole on earth where even in the 21st century people defecate openly and still engage in pre medival era behaviors.
That being said USA has never ever treated Bangladesh like a vassal, it gave out aid it opened its markets and always helps us when needed.
Now India who instigated 1971 and then with the help of the soviets defeated Pakistan placed their cronies in power like Mujib was accused of the agartala conspiracy case.
Once mujib who was a slave of India, did everthing possible to make Bangladesh a salve colony of India not even a vassal.
He was okay with Farrakha being built. He gave all the factories built by the Pakistanis to his followers so they could damage the economy and make Bangladesh subservient to India for trade and essential goods.
His daughter went a step above and made Bangladesh a slave state of India in practice and in paper. She gave control off all the critical organizations to Indians and their slaves.
She went above and beyond to ensure that Bangladesh cannot break away from the grip of Indian companies. She ensured that Indians can sell their substandard products in Bangladesh at a preimium price.
She allowed Bangladesh to used for transit for free while getting nothing in return from India.
Now please pray tell how is the us trying to make Bangladesh a vasal when there is overwhelmeing evidence of India trying to make Bangladesh their slave colony?
I also like to see how with american backing Indians can walk the walk.
