We Successfully Represent Our Country in the International Arena with Our Work in the Defense Industry!
We attended the World Defense Show 2024 ( @WDS_KSA ) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and held a series of meetings to further strengthen our country's successful work in the field of defense industry with international cooperation.First, we met with Faleh Al Sulaiman, President of the General Authority for Defense Development (@mygovsa), which funds the R&D studies of the Saudi Arabian defense industry. During our meeting, where we provided information about the work we have carried out as
@Tubitak in the field of defense industry, we also answered their questions about the activities we carry out.We welcomed the requests of GAAD officials, who follow our R&D studies in the field of defense industry and the successful projects we developed as a result of these studies, with great interest, to visit our Institution. We consulted about possible collaborations. Then, we attended the "Future Defense Leadership Forum" to which we were special guests. We had another contact with representatives of the Saudi Arabian Military Industry ( @SAMIDefense). We evaluated what we could do to make our collaborations further and more comprehensive through the ongoing mutual visits and studies between our institutions in the last year.In our last meeting, we met with @Intra_sa officials. We were pleased with their opinion that cooperation with Turkey is very important and that Turkish defense industry companies should be the first choice in cooperation for Saudi Arabian companies. We were both pleased and proud that they followed our country's and our Institution's work in the field of defense industry closely and with interest. We will continue to proudly represent our country with the successful projects we have realized and planned as @Tubitak in the international defense industry technology and industry!

A promising export deal has been revealed: the MARLIN unmanned surface vehicle (USV), developed through cooperation with Sefine Shipbuilding and Aselsan, could soon join the fleet of the Royal Saudi Navy.

During the event, Naval News took a closer look at a scale model of the USV displayed by the Naval Construction and Maintenance Support (NCMS) team. Various payload options appeared. It is worth noting that it was revealed for the first time that two Kuzgun anti-ship missile launchers were added to the rear side of the ship.

In a conversation with Naval News, an NCMS representative said that negotiations between the interested parties are ongoing, awaiting final requirements from the Royal Saudi Navy.

The official also indicated that the USV may undergo some modifications tailored to meet the specific needs of the Royal Saudi Navy, suggesting a possible name change from MARLIN.

This collaboration was highlighted in the official publication of the World Defense Expo, which announced the upcoming sea trials of the MARLIN USV.
