Following today’s advances, Sana’a forces now control 85% of the Taiz governorate
Per available info Houthi's are not liked in Taiz. This raises questions about strategic objective of offensive. It can potentially distract the Saudis/Gulf nations enough away from conflict with Iran and provide Iran breathing room to buy time. The only other strategic objective is ending the opposition to Houthi's in Yemen which would be a Houthi decision not related to Iran.
Here are some updates as it appears Yemeni government forces based in Aden do not appear to have good defenses in place for city of Taiz.

The current situation... The HUSIS have cut off the Taiz-Aden road on two fronts.. And the city of Taiz has been completely besieged..
There is also an attack underway toward the city center.. From the city's outer neighborhoods and industrial zone, the HUSIS are launching relentless attacks.
