Per available info Houthi's are not liked in Taiz. This raises questions about strategic objective of offensive. It can potentially distract the Saudis/Gulf nations enough away from conflict with Iran and provide Iran breathing room to buy time. The only other strategic objective is ending the opposition to Houthi's in Yemen which would be a Houthi decision not related to Iran.

The current situation... The HUSIS have cut off the Taiz-Aden road on two fronts.. And the city of Taiz has been completely besieged..

There is also an attack underway toward the city center.. From the city's outer neighborhoods and industrial zone, the HUSIS are launching relentless attacks.

The current situation... The HUSIS have cut off the Taiz-Aden road on two fronts.. And the city of Taiz has been completely besieged..

There is also an attack underway toward the city center.. From the city's outer neighborhoods and industrial zone, the HUSIS are launching relentless attacks.

Basically now Saudis are again invested in Yemeni conflict which was stable prior to conflict breaking out in the region. Saudis will tell USA they have no stomach for renewal of hostilities in region with Iran initiated by the US. US will have to take that into consideration.

Israel + US can still decide to undergo limited strikes in Iran. But intiaition of broader conflict is more unlikely now as a result of renewed hostilities in Yemen.

What's happening in Taiz in brief:

The Houthis reinforced their forces with thousands of troops a few days ago, and we published numerous reports about their movements!!

For a full week, drones have been monitoring all Houthi movements, their depots, troop concentrations, weapons, supplies, and everything else!!

Then, suddenly, something unexpected happened:

Warplanes launched dozens of airstrikes on Mawiyah and Al-Hawban, targeting the reception camp and Al-Jalila, as well as the Houthi economic institution. They destroyed more than 200 vehicles, armored personnel carriers, weapons depots, food and medical supplies, and everything else that serves the Houthis in the battle...

This means the airstrikes have broken the Houthis' back in Taiz, as the number of dead and wounded is in the hundreds!!

Since yesterday, the Houthis have been pressing on all fronts, shelling the homes of civilians and innocent people. However, they haven't advanced an inch on any of these fronts, and many of their leaders have been killed, along with all those who infiltrated. This means they suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment last night!

And they are still trying with all their might... Then suddenly:

This morning, the air force launched seven airstrikes, destroying their gatherings and artillery positions!

The air force is conducting sweeps... and the Houthis are reinforcing their positions. This is how it will be until the major battle begins!

The Houthis have suffered more than 5,000 dead and wounded in Taiz this week!
