America has had it easy man because you been living on a continent away from Eurasia. China in middle part of 20th century lost 30million to Japs then 50million to famine and walked out of it like a stroll through a park. Do you think America can hold its sh1t together if it loses people on that scale?

I am not saying Iran or Yemen could put that level of pain on America but to say America is untested and having never endured real hardship is a reality.

Maybe the pre-boomer generation of Yankees can endure it, but the current generation is out of question.

And they are starting to scream Chinamaxxing.

Because they believe that the US must support them in order to preserve the existence of the petro-dollar.

Most Americans today couldn't go more than a couple of hours without their smartphones.

Still, as posted, my parents are Depression Era so that means they also experienced WWII. That would be the last time Americans, outside of the 9-11 tragedy, experienced losses on a considerable scale. Oh, and let's also not forget our own Civil War.

So America is definitely tested. It just needs a reminder every now and then that getting too soft is not a good thing.

Apart from the STEM study, I think to have the survival skill in the wild without urbanization is also important.

I'll have to watch the video later so have it tagged. Without watching it, I can tell you this much: you make an excellent observation.

I grew up with those skills to live in the outdoors. Fishing, hunting, etc. Those skills were further honed a little later in life. Far too many of the urban people think roughing it is without power for a couple of days. They have no clue

My oldest daughter is very adept in the outdoors. So is her husband. He also has the benefit of USAF SERE training. I wish my #2 daughter was adept.

My son-in-law is very adept. We're trying to teach his son to be adept. Right now, he's more interested in the neat features that come with his girlfriend. So he's a work in progress.

True. As I have said before, the Iranian regime will happily sacrifice another country through its proxies just to preserve its own strategic influence. Lebanon was devastated, and now Yemen is being pushed towards the same fate while Tehran stays safely behind the curtain.

But lets keep ethnicity out of it. The problem is the IRGC and its policies, not Persian people as a whole.

Right now Iran has grabbed the ME by the balls and wants to dictate this whole conflict on its own terms. Basically Iran wants to expel American and Israeli influence and emerge stronger as a result of it. That's why Iran initiated the talks with the Gulf states for the future of the Strait, but the Arabs denied obviously because they had to visit from a position of weakness. Iran is clever and not just any stupid Arab state, that's why decades of planning to export its "revolution" in the ME allowed it to create proxies which is a form of strategic depth.
