Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

And It amazes me that how Iranians and Pro-iranians conveniently ignores the fact that it was Iran airplane defying Saudi orders which was most probably delivering Military advisors and weapon shipments, not to land at San'aa airport led to this mess.

Let's be neutral if you wish this upon Saudi then say with conviction that very airport hosting Iranian military advisors and shipments is a legitimate target for Saudi and western forces.
This is truly a very "interesting" perspective.

1. Saudi Arabia established a no-fly zone over another country's airspace. What kind of action is this? Of course, if we set aside current international rules and adopt the "might makes right" mentality of the law of the jungle, then such a move is feasible. However, the prerequisite is that you must consistently maintain that stance.

2. When an Iranian flight intrudes into a no-fly zone, the standard responses employed by other nations in similar situations include issuing radio warnings, scrambling fighter jets to intercept and drive the aircraft away, or even shooting it down directly...
Did we see Saudi Arabia take any direct action against this flight? No.
The Iranian flight landed safely and picked up Houthi personnel. Saudi Arabia remained silent once again, taking no direct action.
When the Iranian flight returned with the Houthi personnel, it once again violated the no-fly zone. Saudi Arabia remained silent, taking no direct action.
But this time, they sent their air force to bomb the airfield...

This is a coward's game!

The Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces couldn't defeat this guerrilla force, and even when Saudi Arabia intervened directly, it still couldn't win. Now, they have actually invoked the MDA agreement to rope in their allies—all to face an opponent that is nothing more than a guerrilla force wearing flip-flops...

* I do not support or oppose either side; I am simply analyzing issues of military strategy.

Do you realize Saudi is under attack and as per MDA, Pakistan is bound to help Saudia?

Do you realize Pakistan is under attack from Afghanistan and as per MDA, Saudi is bound to help Pakistan ?

You see it isn’t so simple & straightforward. Pakistan will & must help Saudi, but that help must remain within reason.

Smarty , this is not " coward's game" ...
Saudi Arabia showed courtesy and allowed houthis to attend the funeral of ayatullah.... when houthis got cocky and tried to take advantage of this courtesy then Saudi Arabia responded.

The Saudis were doing the right thing by staying ringside and simply watching the rounds unfold. The prudent thing for them to do was to accept the new reality, be patient, and mould things over time to their long-term benefit. The Mecca Accords gave the Saudis the assurance they needed, but MBS got too excited and wrote a cheque of grandeur that reality could not cash. Not only has he put his kingdom in unnecessary danger, but he has also embarrassed Pakistan and Turkey with his adventurism.

Very good post, Saudi gets no acknowledgement that they sat out the war

but the Makkah accords are medium to long term, turkey and Pakistan had to know it was formed in the middle of the war and hence it must be durable enough in the mutual understanding to weather the short term chaos to build long term security.

That has to be the assumption otherwise it was a frivolous idea to begin with embarrassing 3 nations, note turkey have distanced themselves from troop deployment openly

Many nations are looking to kill the idea early and it represents a juicy blow, that would be embarrassing but the three nations under a pact or not will increasingly come together regardless, and it's up to the region to decide how they react

That is one interpretation. No doubt, KSA has demonstrated a fair degree of military incompetence for quite some time now. The alternative interpretation is that patience was being exercised, some call it "restraint".

Like you, I am not a fan of such actions.

Saudi Arabia is culpable for a sub par military, their main asset is oil money which many depend on.

Right now overnight they cannot transform so have shared the burden, that is what it is.

The houthis are kaat addicted bandits, I know there is blame both sides but that will lead to arguments, better to focus on regional stability

Translated from Arabic

Yemeni Cabinet:

Yemen is experiencing a decisive phase titled the restoration of sovereignty over the entire national territory and the downfall of the Iranian-funded and -managed Houthi coup

We salute the victories of the Southern Giants Brigades, the National Shield Forces, and the Popular Resistance, with support from the Legitimacy Support Coalition Regaining control of Bab al-Mandab after liberating the Dhobab directorate and its surroundings is a strategic shift that will strip the militia of its card for extorting international navigation

The Houthi militia has committed cowardly terrorist acts by targeting Aden International Airport, coinciding with its attacks on airports and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia The Houthi militia is collapsing on the battlefield and attempting to cover up its defeat by targeting civilians and their blood
