Well US did end up evacuating it's bases in proximity of Iran... and continues to create a distance from Iranian reach. In that regard... I do not think anyone in GCC was able to ask politely for US to leave...

Strike on Sanaa airport was long ago during the war and it was quiet for weeks after that. It's not because of that but likely because Iran wants create pressure to international trade along Red Sea.
