Yemen Civil War News and Discussion.. an evolving situation

Don't really understand why Saudi has not done this already. If Houthis feel comfortable hitting civilian infrastructure and airports, they have absolved any claim to victimhood they may have once had. A few khat plantations should be torched also.

War in #Yemen #SITREP | Taiz Axis and Operation Dawn of Yemen #ODY | 13 October 2026 | Heavy fighting continues across multiple fronts in Taiz governorate as Yemen’s National Army, supported by local Popular Resistance fighters, battles Houthi forces attempting to advance toward the city. Clashes have intensified along the al-Dhabab front west of Taiz city and the al-Aqrud and al-Shaqab fronts to the south.

Government forces report sustained ground engagements as they attempt to hold defensive positions and counter Houthi advances.Yemeni military aircraft reportedly conducted nine airstrikes against Houthi personnel, positions, and military equipment in Taiz, including five strikes along the al-Dhabab front and four in al-Misrakh district.

The strikes were intended to disrupt Houthi reinforcements and reduce pressure on government positions. The renewed air support comes amid intensified fighting along the western and southern approaches to Taiz city.Meanwhile, the Southern Giants Brigades @alamalikah

reinforced their positions in al-Mudarabah district of Lahj governorate, bordering al-Wazi'iyah district in Taiz, to prevent Houthi forces from advancing toward the al-Subayha tribal areas. The Giants Brigades praised local tribal fighters for defending their territory and acknowledged Saudi-led coalition air support targeting Houthi positions along the al-Mudarabah front.

The Giants Brigades also reported providing medical treatment to dozens of wounded Houthi prisoners of war, alleging that Houthi forces had abandoned them without medical assistance.Beyond Taiz, Yemen’s National Army reports continued offensive operations against Houthi forces across the northern Ma'rib fronts under the Seventh Military Region COmmand (MRC) as part of #ODY. According to the military's media center @Yem_army_media

government forces remain engaged in direct combat while employing combat aircraft, armed drones, artillery, and multiple-launch rocket systems against Houthi positions, reinforcements, and military equipment. Separately, the First Division of the National Shield Forces @diralwatan

released footage of drone strikes targeting a Houthi vehicle and a concentration of Houthi fighters along the al-Muhawalah front. In its latest operational statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman @spokespersonyem

announced that 1,879 precision targeting operations have been conducted under #ODY, employing combat aircraft, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers, and sniper units. Military spokesman Colonel Majed al-Nuzaili claimed that these operations have neutralized approximately 950 Houthi personnel and destroyed or disabled 380 military vehicles and other assets. The reported targets include fortified positions, command-and-control facilities, artillery and rocket launchers, surveillance posts, troop concentrations, weapons depots, and logistical networks. The spokesman further stated that airstrikes in Taiz had disrupted Houthi reinforcement columns and prevented units from regrouping, while military engineering teams continued clearing mines and explosive devices from recaptured positions.

Taiz thwarts militia attacks on several fronts.. and airstrikes target its reinforcements, inflicting heavy losses on it

The yemen president repeats again that there is no way back for the houthis

President Al-Alimi: Ending the militia coup is an executive decision with no turning back

Explosions rock Aramco facility with rising smoke in Dammam, eastern Saudi Arabia. It appears this is the first Yemeni response to the Saudi bombing of an oil facility in Sanaa and Hodeidah; Sanaa has not yet announced.Source

It's very common there unfortunately, and many partake, but not everyone engage in it all the time or find it acceptable given it's effects on the mind and society. It's a problem that plagues large parts of their country, but if you're so addicted to it that even your leaders can't stop getting high all the time even when fighting and killing, there is a serious problem.
Yemen Somalia Sudan and many large segments of Africa have a problem with it but Yemen it’s rampant everywhere for sure if you stop producing crops to feed your nation and produce khat because it’s more profitable it’s an issue and that’s all parts of Yemen

Yeah, lol. I mean come on.

There is always a choice to chart out a proper strategy and execution, instead of doing more of the same.
You have very valid points. Lack of a unified command and a coherent war strategy is obvious in the Yemeni government side. A large part of the Yemeni government forces consists of ragtag tribal lashkars that are more interested in pursuing their tactical gains and often resort to backstabing each other.

However, the core of Yemeni government forces is claimed to be a professional fighting force and their numeric strength is stated to be between 40k to 50k. That force is probably deployed to defend only the strategic fronts. It seems that the Yemeni government and the Saudi collation are focusing less on actual ground advancement and more on destroying Houthi military assets in terms of men and material.

Independent observers are almost unanimously recognizing the huge Houthi losses of both men and ammo dumps/depots. Many hundreds of Houthi fighters are claimed to be killed almost daily. Similarly Saudis have been successful in destroying Houthi missile sites, missile/ammunition depots (one such mountain tunnel having missiles was reported to have secondary explosions for more than 12 hours, possibly hundreds of missile got blown up) . Anything that gets in to the open is effectively targeted and destroyed by the Saudi air force.

I think that strategy is working for the collation even though no immediate results are visible yet. Even if the Houthi losses are inflated to some extent, Houthis will not be able to sustain such losses in men and material for long before their defenses collapse. The cat and mouse game being played by tribal forces has minimum adverse effect on this strategy. When these tribes would finally see the turning tables, they will get in line too.

The armed forces in #مأرب are advancing on the southern front by more than 25 km, and it is the most dangerous area since the militias' positions and fortifications are on the mountains, with open desert in front of them that makes it easy to target any moving object. However, by the grace of God, the army is advancing large distances and has passed the most dangerous stage....

Saudi Arabia wants people around the world to believe that Iran is responsible for 9/11 instead of them

Nop only mighty Houthis can make deals with israel and usa . if KSA do its haram.
Oh anyone who makes deals with Israel is a snake but unless we are repeating fake sources regarding Houthi collaboration with Israel I have yet to see Houthis making any backdoor deals with Israel sadly many Arab countries including one who is only telling Arabs they have opened their doors for Bibi is UAE sorry if you think making deals with Bibi who makes derogatory remarks about Arabs and Muslims and has killed numerous Arab and Muslim civilians is ok 🤦

A bit off topic, but still related...

Its truly facinating how most Indian Channels have footage of Houthis.

Its kinda similar to how they are always the first to air the attack clips of BLA/BLF.
Yes, Indians would certainly celebrate Saudi losses (for being a member of Mecca Defence Alliance). BTW, Indians twitter accounts also report Iranian losses with joy.

For Indians, Muslim losses are beneficial for them in general.

The only country that Indians would unanimously and blindly support on their channels is Israel.

Saudi will condemn itself if it takes any help from the filthy Zionists

The Zionists are so hated and despised any nation, especially a Muslim nation that shows any support or connection will be rightly disgraced
Seriously what is wrong with these people who think it’s fine UAE will get what it deserves from within I promise you that there will one day when one of these guys will be like has my country sunk so low and takeover
