However, the sense of self-respect and pride in civilisational identity that I see among Indians, particularly Indian Hindus, is not something I observe to the same extent in China or other East Asian countries. This is not about being developed or backward; it is about mentality. Japan and South Korea are also financial and technological powerhouses, yet their military capabilities and strategic outlook differ considerably from India's.
You have no idea what you are talking about, because you Indians simply do not understand how other people see India, nor are you willing to find out.
As far as Taiwanese people are concerned, your so-called self-esteem and pride in your civilizational identity are completely unfounded. Indian people's confidence and pride are, from the perspective of Taiwanese people, without any basis.
Do you know why China, which can now stand up to the United States, still calls itself a developing country, while India, whose GDP is only one-fifth that of China, calls itself a country that is about to become a superpower? Modi even says that India is Vishwaguru (world teacher).
