Z-10 ME/P deliveries Updates: Pakistan Army Aviation.

Deal hanging. No word from either side.

What I think is that PA really loves the T129 ATAK, but due to engine restrictions by the US the deal couldn't be made. So Chinese came up with their Z10 for trails by PA, which initially didn't come up to the requirements/benchmarks by PA. So Chinese came up with the Z10ME according to the PA requirements and are keen to sell us. But I think PA has still their first love set for T129 ATAK and are maybe trying to wait until Turkey creates its indigenous engine, after that will be able to sell to Pakistan.

But this could all be just a wishful thinking and speculation.

That I have no clue about, but hopefully won't be less than 40
I visited old PDF yesterday, on the old Z-10 thread, somebody said, in a very recent post, that the number of Z-10's ordered is over 40 and have been heavily customized, with deliveries begining in 2025, hopefully that person is right, PA's AH-1's need to be retired now, the poor birds have served way past their life at this point

Definitely plausible. Also worth remembering that the Turks had offered the T129 with a credit/instalment plan. So, they may have indicated to the PA that the instalment plan is still available if/when the T129 with local engines comes online.

I checked all the official Chinese-language media, and they did not report this news.

This situation, in general, is illustrated. His trip was one of military affairs rather than courtesy or trade affairs. This is just speculation based on the norm.

Zhang Youxia is a 2# person in the Central Military Commission. His level is too high to be involved in something as trivial as the “Z-10ME export”.

Year 2024 has almost passed but still their is no definite lime line of delivery only hopes and hopes and so on,already two years gone since the news or roumer that pak will get first batch up to end of 2023 while engines for t129 from USA are still looks far far away.

It would be a great addition to PA's attack helicopter requirement but who knows, maybe PA has eyes on the new Z-21(?), a heavy attack helicopter in the same class as the Apache AH-64.

Split the order 50/50

Why do you think pilot is necessary in a gunship? If you are so focused on gunship heli, then I give you example of gunship heli. Just remove the pilot & cockpit from Z-10ME. Same pilot of Z-10ME can be stationed at ground location and flying the heli just like the way he'd have done while physically present in heli. That's a UCAV for you. now you can drastically reduce the armor & weight of the heli (UCAV), improve its design.

Similarly, same thing with tanks. However, in the later phases even the role of remote pilots will start diminishing as AI controlled drones will go more and more autonomous. That's in a long term but what we can see in near future is existing machines with remote piloting, that's exactly what UCAV means

I am not saying the role of tanks / gunships will be diminished anytime soon. Their role will be just taken over by Unmanned systems controlled by operators sitting in bunkers or any place deep inside in friendly territory, you can use them for multiple machines. If one UCAV goes down, same pilot will switch to another one.
Why were russians using wire guides drones because uav/drones were having issues with severe electronic warfare

Wouldn't that be an issue with UCAV
