Z-10 ME/P deliveries Updates: Pakistan Army Aviation.

Not sure it is a competition, but if it was, the Z-10ME does win the prettiest attack helicopter category for sure.

A unit price of $15million does negate India's industrial advantage, as at that price point Pakistan can build a good size inventory to offset both the Apaches, and India's homegrown solutions that she has developed.

A good number of these operating in tandem with drones would be hell for the enemy.

The cobras are not going any where, some have been moved to the western front to supports the ground opps.
But the majority remain stationed at the eastern front. Unlike the preception here in this forum, the overwhelming majority of the cobra fleet remains operational.
Their is no scarcity of parts.
The cobras will operate in conjunction with z10. Eg their is a flight of 6 attack heles 2 will be z 10 while 4 will be cobras. The z10 will not only provide top cover but better situational awareness and target acquisition. While cobras are still deadly with with c night and tow missiles......infact wt we have learnt from the Ukraine conflict is that wire guided munitions are more accurate and deadly then fire n forget munitions, as they are prone to jamming.
This is give us the most bang for the buck for the over all fleet.

Oh god where do I even begin...

Cobra's won't even be able to approach close enough to launch TOWS, wire guided missiles are more accurate?? Says who? Ukraine has proven exactly the opposite with the javelin being the star of the show. Missiles the Z-10me carry's allow it to launch missiles well out of Manpad range, the cobra's can't do that so you are essentially dooming pilots to their deaths by forcing them to fly into Manpad territory, Cobra's are simply not suitable for any anti armour missions in the modern age.

Not to mention things like cobra's not being able launch tows near wooded areas.

Questions :
1 - Are the number of MMW(Radome) less than the number of helicopters ordered ? ie are the sets mission specific and will be installed/removed based on missions or will all of them have MMW? Wll they be purchased for only 'part' of the fleet?
2 - Is the first batch capable of operating the MMW radomes ?
3 - Can the Pakistan integrate home grown missiles and drones onto this platform in Pakistan or does it require China to do the integration ?
4 - What is the logic or usecase of them being painted black ?
5 - Is the current dark paint scheme the final paint scheme or will they eventually get a different camouflage based paint scheme?
6 - Has the platform been navalised so that it can operate off ships if required(ie seawater corrosion resistant? Intellectually curiosity, not suggesting any use case! )

:) :) :) ...
I have heard that all these helicopters will be connected to Pakistani Link 17, and will be networked .
Meaning the target information can be relayed to these by other assets.

Surely the Cobra are running out of airframe lifespan regardless of spare parts availability by now?

It makes sense to have that interactivity both for targettting information aswell as protection of the WZ-10ME platform. Locally made cheap small drones can do target acquisition and they can pass that back to the Z-10ME which can sit a few miles behind the front lines and silently take out large numbers of targets with its 16 missiles.

Something along those lines.
Pakistan is now too deep into Net Centric warfare Wizardry.
They started in 1977. Now reaping the benefits.

Real unfortunate the situation with the T129 engine getting blocked by the US, not sure who they were punishing with that one, Turkey or Pakistan, but good on Pakistan to acquire a new platform.

Maybe in the future when the T929 is developed with a domestic engine, some sort of joint development deal to a variant tailored for Pakistan can be studied.

Ability and capabilities of army aviators is well known but this is the first major Chinese system inducted by the PAA. this will require intensive training of the pilots as well as the maintenance crews. Chinese personnel to be stationed in multan for some time to come.
