To paraphrase Morpheus:

History is not without a sense of irony

Again,you don't get it.

I'm talking about Greece being offered the Eurofighter in the 2000s. That's where the ad is from. In fact,in the late '90s we were supposed to be part of the program, but for some reason we ended up not buying the Eurofighters but instead upgrading F-16s.

That's the irony, the two posters. The one with Eurofighter welcoming Turkey in 2025 and the other from the 2000s with Eurofighter ready to welcome Greece. Not your irrelevant F-35 self-wanking post.

in 2005 , Italy invited Türkiye to join the Eurofighter consortium
but Turkiye joined American F-35 program

There is one more irony everyone here hasn't thought of yet or has,but hasn't mentioned:

Since 2021 and for at least 2023,the Turkish media and subsequently almost all of the Turkish members here, used to repeat the same phrase: "Greece bought used Rafale". From former MoD Akar,to turkish media,to PDF members, there was this dumb phrase being repeated "Greece bought used Rafales!"

The irony is Turkey now just bought 24 used Eurofighters

Wasn't there a term on the deal not to use them against any fellow NATO member, especially Greece?

As opposed to Greece, which is apparently allowed to use it also against a fellow NATO member? Come on now those are just empty promises from either sides. In any actual kinetic war both Rafales and Eurofighters will be used, however unlikely that is. Especially since there will be a localized maintenance centers and spare part production line if the early reports are to be believed.

The big difference is that Greece does not have a casus belli against Turkey.

Greece is not threatening Turkey and Greece's doctrine is purely defensive,as opposed to Turkey's expansionist doctrine and policies of the last 10 or so years. Turkey is the one with imperial ambitions: bases in Africa and countries of the Middle-East,Turkey is the country with an aircraft carrier, with plans to build a second even bigger one,the country which has adopted a revisionist geopolitical doctrine(Mavi Vatan).

That is the difference. It's Turkey's government and head of State who have quite openly threatened various countries with war and interventions the last few years: Syria,Israel,
Egypt,Armenia,Greece,Cyprus, maybe even Iran at some point.

I do not want to go off-topic, but are there any info what types will replace the Typhoons in both Qatar's and Oman's Air Forces?

Oman is getting rid of their entire fleet. Their reason for getting rid of them was the cost of operation.

Qatar is buying new Eurofighters and giving the Eurofighters they currently have, of which the oldest plane is 3 years old, to Turkey. They are additionally giving Turkey their place in the production queue. This is more motivated by Qatar doing Turkey a favor than money or a need for new planes.

NOPE. lol, Turkey would never agree to such terms and limitation, unless Greece was made to accept the same terms.

If Greece does not try to disrupt the balance established in the Aegean by the Treaty of Lausanne 1923 and if Greece does not increase its territorial waters from 6 to 12 miles, CASUS BELLI will never come into play

Greece is threatening Turkiye's vital national security and interests

and Turkiye's doctrine is purely defensive
-- to fight PKK-YPG terrorism in Syria
-- Armenia attacked Azerbaijan
-- Greek Cypriots attacked Turkish Cypriots for ENOSIS dream
-- Greece has wet dreams against Turkiye ... nationalist and irredentist concept of MEGALI IDEA
-- Israel has promised land dream to destroy territorial integrity of Iraq , Syria , Turkiye

Stay calm and don't wake the sleeping giant
Turkiye has never set its sights on any state's territory.

I hate to say it, but i think this "reactionary" movement from Turkiye when were surrounded by rats is the wrong way to play the game. Turkiye should be working day and night to undermine and ultimately destroy/balkanise her regional enemies. All of them who have worked against us, wished harmed against us must be dismantled.

In the case of Greece, Cyprus in her totality should be reclaimed as should places like crete and rhodes. Greece herself should be balkanised with her lands being shared by her neighbours. Its been decades now that these people have shown time and time again that they are our enemies.

The albanians, bulgarians and macedonians all have legitimate claims on greece, it should be cultivated.

There were supposed to be such similar terms,I don't know if they implemented anything,at least on the part of Germany. Not Qatar and Oman,I'm talking about the Europe front.

Yes, call the entire eastern medeterranian Greek and then say, bro I'm just defending bro. lol

They are not used its basically new. oldest jet 3 years old and minor air patrols. Those F-35s have been sitting in storage in the US longer than that.
