The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) revealed a new program related to its JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighter, the JF-17 PFX (Pakistan Fighter Experimental).

@Quwa is trying to portray it as upgrade program of BLOCK I and II and I seriously doubt that. Because like I said keep that picture in mind which was posted. That slide. It has Turkish, Saudi and Irani flags. It's a new jet by all means.

It also could be a upgrade fulfilling requirements of 3 countries. HST l doubt that these countries would purchase this new aircraft because two have access to western systems and Iran has access to chinese and Russian systems. Maybe Pakistan will incorporate Turkish systems for its new program.

I feel it was more wishful thinking on just a few discussions blown up so someone could name a program after themselves.

Regardless, one of the “partner” nations is currently in a very unfriendly camp and the other is busy trying to build their own industry and assembling more typhoons.

It’s the sort of thing one does to put a project in the OKRs for your manager.. like “Helped enable strategic imitations by providing key enablement material to go to market leadership “

Again, you are seeing things that do not exist, exactly like a 3rd J-31 prototype in 2018 and not no. 4 & 5! Nothing of this is true and again you refuse a clear answer to a simple question and instead spin on your phantasies.

Doing CFD runs to make pretty pictures is so easy but it looks impressive to the general public.

Unfortunately, even defence enthusiasts rarely grasp the engineering challenges of Aerospace Engineering. It would be boring for most people I guess. @Quwa maybe the perfect format for that podcast you've always wanted to do.

Whatever maybe the case but upgrade to block l and ll are for real and that's what Quwa is forecasting. This upgrade is known knowledge to everyone.

Sir the way JF-17 PFX was described in the video. No way that is an upgrade program of current JF-17. Pakistan won't be making such claim for upgrades. Upgrading stuff is usual thing in PAF. It's something new. Either a Block four like Grippen E or something close to something like current KF-21 with single engine and everything stealth without internal weapons bay.

I keep weapons and Armed Forces leadership different. Other wise you have no idea where things are headed. If in next few years we see another 1971 I won't be surprised. Because people of KPK are taking current situation as you have told them their elected guy can never be a PM. Right now that prisoner number 804 is only thing standing between MAFIAS and another 1971. If he is not there you would have another 1971. Pathans know how to fight and they know it way more than Mukti Banis ever did.

Now as for J-31 and JF-17 PFX. Yes, they are different according to the video released by PAF. In my opinion JF-17 PFX will be either something similar to Grippen E. Those who have no clue what I am talking about just go to Wikipedia page of Grippen and check the difference between Grippen E and earlier versions of Grippen. Or it could be similar to a new plane with stealth body, AESA radar, EW suit, IRST, Avionics and may be no internal weapons bay initially or may be full on single engine 5th Generation fighter jet.
