Iranian Air Defence Systems | News and Discussions

AFAIK it was said that IADs entered in "ambush" mode. They were stored and located in areas to ambush the aircrafts when going or coming back from the targets.

The video explicitly talks about "preservation" and how Israel depleted first their aeroballistic missile fleet in first days to degrade the IADs and then using sabotage.

This *really* put the entire 12-day conflict in a different class as that which I had assumed to date.

What was a moment of revelation for me was the intended decapitating strike on Iran's leadership in an effort to trigger a coup d'état. The leadership, the Supreme Leader in particular, was adequately protected, one of these sites reportedly being under a mountain near Tehran. He would of course have been moved periodically to other such sites.

Iran has learned a hard and valuable lesson.

Detection, intelligence from ground level up to space & integration, will be the norm in future conflicts.

I think we saw that in the alleged live inputs received by Pakistan from Chinese radar and satellite feeds during the recent much publicized J-1 0C-- Rafael takedowns. Not too different from the US assets assisting Israel.

Think of it as a spiders web. Disturb one strand and Mama comes out to investigate and consume.

Iran will, by hook or crook, try to emulate this. Its either consume or be consumed.

how many fighter jets did they manage to ambush exactly

Did you remember those videos recorded in Tehran with israeli aircrafts launching flares to avoid IR missiles?. At least in two times those videos were recorded.

The main evidence It is the cesasefire itself. If the israeli Air force could happily enter and getting out of Iranian airspace, why to accept an cesasefire?.

Israelí Air force and US Air force and Navy should be enough to destroy most of the missile power of the country?. Why to accept a truce?.

you didn't answer my question

once you answer it, we can discuss your new topics. I think that's fair

Yes, I agree, I said the same thing.....when was the last time Israel asked for cease fire in their other campaigns? The answer is never.....so next time let the Iran leadership understand if they sue for peace, drag it out....keep hitting them for an extra week, while you work out the details of the ceasefire. They only sue for peace when they're in trouble, don't let them off the hook....they only respect strength....they're not the peaceful types. These E. Europeans are the worst of the worst...specially the Poles and the Ukrainians, they will kill every man, woman and child...then kill your dogs/cats for fun.

destruction of Najm radar

crew survived with severe burns

medium range systems need point defence air defence to increase their survivability

Majid or 9th Day could have a good possibility of shooting down small numbers of cruise missiles

Are they still running everything on windows xp? You probably can't list all the unpatched backdoors such an old OS has now.

however they also showed Shahed-107 drones among the wreckage of downed drones, so ...

New Sevom Khordad HIMAD TELARS being delivered. Same beast that brought down RQ4. TELAR is a smart strategy of a mobile AD that can search n track targets while being mobile or being reliant upon IADS Search cues, so even if the enemy targets Search Radars the TELAR is still active.

They are now producing 3-4 x Khordad-3/15 HIMAD Batteries per year. ARMAN/Bavar-373 is stuck at 1 per year if ordered.

Iranian radars do not seem able to burn through enemy jamming while the jets can launch long range missiles from a safe range. Targeting the munitions may be a more successful strategy. Air force could have played a role in disrupting launches but was intentionally neglected by IR.

Even if track radar locks on, what SAM can reach a fighter 300-400 KM away from Iranian border? IRIAF could but Mullah destroyed the force so here we are.

Seeing the absence of craters and being Kermanshah (extreme west of the country) we can assume they were destroyed by light munitions of any MALE/HALE. That would make easier to shoot down the UAVs.

But I agree with Emirzad and others. IRIAF must be refurbished completely. That is the only way to be sure they won´t come for more.

mass production and distribution of Majid across West Iran and every SSM base would help a lot
