The civilian government that is implementing proven failed strategies of dealing with terrorists, is responsible. They cannot hide behind the military everywhere.

I would agree with you if negotiations with TTP and Afghanistan, and acceptance of the Durand Line as the international border were going somewhere during Imran Khan’s time. But they were not.

The Taliban consider it a border line not international border, like line of control. We have tribes living on both sides, who are relatives of one another, they want to visit each other and trade. The problem is alot deeper than we think. Even Pakistan rulers before 911 used to say Pakistan and Afghanistan is one, we have no border etc. Ofcourse not officially but used to say this.

So are you saying that Afghanistan accepted Pakistan, with KPK and Balochistan as a part of Pakistan in 1948, or even today?

Because recognizing Pakistan without Pakistan's territorial integrity is the same as not recognizing Pakistan.

Pakistan and India are a British creation. Why do refuse to accept this fact ? Does it hurt your ego ? There would be no Pakistan today if the British had not agreed to leave their British India colony and divide it into Republic of India and Republic of Pakistan. The British did this partially due to Congress and Muslim League demands, and mostly because of their exhaustion and bankruptcy from WW2. Clement Attlee was also a farsighted leader who wanted to replace Empire with a Welfare state in the UK during his term. This was why the British left in such a hurry from the subcontinent.

Afghanistan is also a British creation. It was literally a British outpost. Does it hurt your ego to mention that? On what basis you called Durand Line a british creation? Do you refuse to acknowledge it as an international border? If you do so, you have no right to call yourself a Pakistani. You are standing in the same line as your brothers in Afghanistan. Own it, or you are going to be snakey and dupliticious just like your brothers?

And to your point, every state is a human construct but that doesn’t mean their borders mean nothing or their people mean nothing - whats your point again? Please share with us.

When this DG held a press conference during the recent Pakistan-India conflict, his powerful speech won the hearts of Pakistanis. In contrast, his most political speeches sound laughable.

Remember when Modi claimed he advised the IAF to take advantage of thick clouds? The DG makes similar blunders when he ventures into politics.

Yes they did. The Durand Line political issue exists for a segment of Afghan pashtuns only. It's not an issue for Afghanistan's other ethnicities and neither has it had much currency on the Pakistan side.

But if you want to seek an angle to have conflict with Afghanistan and then sell that conflict to the world.......thats another matter.

No Afghan government has accepted the Durand Line as the international border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

If we combine 3 of his recent press conferences you can clearly see how off he is from reality…. It seems certain as some foreign mercenary is talking to people under occupation telling them to stfu….. what good part had come out of this alcohol stinking mouth which would help Pakistan in any way?

I hope there is no foreign element here. Cant accuse anyone without evidence.

I hope its just a case of ego, naivety, being oblivious of the ground reality.

Both sides need to shutup, bring down their egos, and come to an understanding at some point in time. Thats the only way forward.

Maybe certain elements both side of the isle don’t want to see this happen.

Sure, modern Afghanistan is also a British creation, alongwith Durand Line and modern states of India and Pakistan. All this is the legacy of the British Empire. I don't know what exactly what you are moaning about ?
