The Evolution of PAF's JF-17 Thunder through OCU [Operational Capability Upgrade] - News, Updates, Possibilities & Discussions.

Its just a test model by TAI's Pakistan branch. It'll likely lead to nothing major.
What a shitty test. They definitely failed. No professionalism whatsoever. Would have been better to put a computer model out there than that garbage.

Its a small scale model, most nations that build fighter jets often use wind tunnels, but if there is no access to said wind tunnels, small scale drone models are instead built and flown.

What you said is quite ignorant of reality, no offense.

Regardless, it Will lead nowhere, and is likely just a test bed for testing out prototype tech on a small scale, as well as to research aerodynamics of a stealth jet.

Brother this is a model of a model. The Iqbal is a 1:7 scale model of KAAN and from the look of the videos from when it flew in March the actual proportions are closer to the real deal. look at the model and tell me that looks anything like the real small scale model. In no way shape of form is anything with those proportions anywhere close to a serious model. It looks as much like a real model as a power wheel looks like a real car. Its not ignorant to say that the quality of this "model" is shitty at all. It looks more like it was half ass slapped together so they had something to show. This is the problem with many desi endeavors of this nature. The reason they often dont lead to anything is that they are (for a multitude of reasons from capability, capacity and funding) not managed with any legitimate amount of professionalism. This "model" is almost certainly not a test model given its proportions but a mockup representation of the test model. The sad thing is the actual proportions of KAAN and its angles are known to this team given it is TAI so getting the actual dimensions scaled appropriately should be a snap. But the proportions are so off its sad. The endeavor was to be a way to develop an understanding of aerodynamics and stealth design by the local TAI teams. It looks more like they had a lookalike contest and everyone lost. Credit to the actual model that flew in March, it looks closer to the real deal.

Compare this mockup to something like the JF-20, JF-17 and JF-17.6 models which looked far more professional and legitimate. There is nothing here to make this thing look like it is really used for any type of testing. Again there is an actual flying model called Iqbal which is a 1:7 scale model of KAAN.

This particular thing is a display, but a drone model did fly, which was quite small, about the size of a coffee table, I believe.

This was made by the Turks by the way, not Pakistanis, as a test model.

Mockups and actual flying prototypes are two different things. TAI got a drone version flying for this thing.

Pakistan's mockups remain mockups.

By the way, a lot of prototypes of aircraft don't actually look all that good or "professional". It's just the reality of development and production.

"With the Block 3 making waves globally thanks to its KLJ-7A AESA radar, PL-15 integration, and electronic warfare upgrades, the arrival of JF-17 Block 4—code-named PFX-Alpha under Pakistan’s experimental fighter program—isn’t just the next iteration. It’s a transformation.

The JF-17 Thunder Block 4, aka PFX-Alpha, isn’t another marginal upgrade. It’s a lethal transformation — a true 4.5++ generation multirole fighter with 70% indigenous systems, AESA jammers, integrated IRST, smart avionics, and locally made Faaz missiles. It’s not competing with Tejas (because let’s not punch downward). Instead, it’s being positioned as Pakistan’s modern-day F-16, only smarter, cheaper, and more adaptable.

F-16 gave us wings. JF-17 Block 4 will give us claws.”

With J-10C potential second order in pipeline as no major PAF asset acquisition stays less than 3-5 squadrons historically - The one real thron was financial freedom.

With Saudis entering into a military pact with Pakistan, there seems to be a ray of light for future inductions as well as development of PFX as a program - starting from MLU of Block - II into AESA - PL-15 equipped asset to Block -IV moving to the end product which may ultimately be a KAAN with PAF modifications & munitions and a non US Engine.

For an airforce which is at cross roads with an option to choose tip of spear from Chinese J-35AE as a stand alone purchase to Tukiye's KAAN with a reasonable share in assembly - the real question looms about the future of PAC Kamra and JF-17 Project.

The question directly relates to which platform would eventually become the work horse in decade 2030 - 20240 which could fill in numbers yet support a 5th gen fleet limited in numbers."

With significant help from China, and by significant, the Chinese did 90% of the heavy lifting.
Well done o be fair most countries have gotten help from other countries china wouldn’t be anywhere near where they are right now without the Russians and than let’s not even pretend they didn’t steal much of f 22 f 35 for their own programs.

Yes, what a shitty test. Only for brainless slumd0gs.

So IQBAL IS AN EXPENSIVE RC PLANE?????
I bet it cant even carry basic communtcation equipment let alne anything future like lol..
I bet again putting a fpv mount in its canopy would be a hassle lol...these size planes are only enough for fuel and the engine...you need these to be signifacntly bigger to add anything meaning full. below is a hobby aircraft

So nothing, go back and read the replies in the thread and you'll know the context of my comment.
Good for you dude and for all those who are seemingly at pains because of Thunder's increasing reach to different regions. Enjoy...

Are you stupid? Where in the hell did I ever indicate I'm against the Thunder, or that I'm at pains that it's spreading?

If you don't know what thr **** you're talking about, and just want a strawman to argue with, keep me out of it.
