The Evolution of PAF's JF-17 Thunder through OCU [Operational Capability Upgrade] - News, Updates, Possibilities & Discussions.

I can get onboard with the concept of replacing the mission computers, radars and EW equipment of the JF17 to create a Block IV variant as being possible within PFX(/Alpha) with additional IRST sensors and new weapons.

I do however "get off the bus" in complete laughter on the concept that Pakistan can some how magically enlarge the airframe... That is absurd.

Pakistan does not have people with the right skillsets and proven experience to do that, nor does it have the infrastructure to test and validate that structure, nor does it have the ability to recertify/validate the airframe changes and all subsystems again for operational use.. Pakistan does not have FBW experts who can modify the FBW of the JF17 for its larger size, potentially new different engine with different kinetic properties and the weight differences. Nor does it have the infrastructure to actually build a larger airframe. Pakistan is still reliant on getting component manufacturers in China to build the "difficult" parts of the airframe and get that shipped to Pakistan.

I could go on, but it would be silly. If Pakistan manufactured 100% of the airframe in Pakistan, maybe I could make the mental leap to maybe Pakistan can, but it does not because it could not afford the tooling and heavy duty machining and presses required for that ...

Who is going to build this larger airframe if Pakistan is dependent on large portions of the airframe to come from China for the JF17C ??

This is a farcical fantasy article I am afraid, directed by the same person who thought Pakistan could do "Azm". They should stick to completely replacing the entire avionics/ew/radar/mission computes suite and chalk that down to a win for PFX and move on.
RADARS are a liability for jet fighters, they are working on more advanced concepts.

Who are "ADIC"?

"What will the Pakistani PFX fighter look like? I did a step by step evolution of the publicly available image to get from a rough concept sketch to what an actual aircraft might look like.

Please note this is my own projection based on the concept art and some sensible parameters. I may be entirely wrong. But with that out of the way, follow along if you’re interested.Let’s start with this poster at NASTP. It gives us a reference for the official concept, even though it is unconfirmed and unfinalized etc etc.

Let’s clean this up a bit and analyze some characteristics. When you adjust contrast, a canopy emerges. It’s quite clear this is a lambda wing, ala J-50. The stealth shaping is also somewhat clear.

What if we fill this in with a skin to sort of get a rough and ready sense of the aircraft? We’re making some progress but we’re missing key features like the canopy. The engines aren’t quite clear. We strongly suspect the PFX is a single engine fighter. So, let’s fill all this in next

As we straighten this out, we can get a better sense of the Raptor like tail arrangement. But those twin nozzles have to go… let’s jump to a somewhat finalized design.

Rough, but indicative. Lambda wing. Single engine. F-22 like tail arrangement. You can see the JF-17 inspiration in the stealth shaped nose. The original concept art doesn’t make the inlets easy to gauge but I’ll say that with high likelihood the DSI design continues"

I'm sorry but what a load of horsesh*t. Trying to give legitimacy to PFX by linking it to Kaan. Begani shadi main Abdullah deewana.
As I said before, until we get something concrete and physical proof out of this program... har koi hawa may teer chalaye ga.
