BTW, Mujib was Suhrawardy's body guard and a 3rd class street thug like Altaf Hussain. He and his family is the most hated family in today's Bd.

At the end of the day he was just a politician seeking power, Bangladesh was Azaad in 1947, in 1971 they just kicked out 55000 West Pak army and beuracrats, he 100% gained closeness to India, and afterwards formed his own militia to take on the opposition in Bangladesh. The reason Pakistanis at time blame our army is if AML won elections then their mandate should have been given to them, and ofcourse Mujib used this for ethnic politics. Typical political move. Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy was a top leader, a patriotic who founded Pakistan (1947).

Yeah, that is exactly the point of holding an election to transfer the power to those who win it. Even an elementary school kid knows that! 🙄

Mujeeb was the politician here. He could be voted out the same way he got voted in. What business did military establishment have to REFUSE transfer of power to him despite his party winning the general elections in 1970?

I agree but I was looking at the situation in a wider context, such as Mujiber Rehman forming close relations with enemy India, then later on calling for independence, and officially forming partnership with India thus revealing his intentions, his daughter till today is Indian ally. Anyways that will be another discussion. Back to IK lol

As alleged due to working with India and RAW. My opinion is he just wasn't working with Pak Army so they rejected him, but his actions later on are not good, he divided the country and people, Bangladeshi people fought for Pakistan and created Pakistan. Mujib then shaked hands with India, an enemy state.

What other choice did military establishment leave for him when they refused his legitimate right to govern Pakistan despite his party winning general elections in 1970? Sheikh Mujeeb kept calling General Yahya to end the martial law and hold the assembly session in Dhaka for the rightful transfer of power to the Awami League. Instead of doing that, military establishment went for the crackdown in East Pakistan and put Sheikh Mujeeb (who had won the election) in prison. The rest you know is history…

Not true. Sheikh Mujeeb contacted General Yahya as the majority party leader and asked him to hold assembly session for the rightful transfer of power. Yahya instead sided with minority party leader Bhutto and kept delaying to hold such a session until eventually initiating a military crackdown in East Pakistan:

The PTI cultits are trying to invoke fears of Pakistan begin broken up, and hence that is why they want to bring up 1971, to support their claims.

Firstly, that Pakistan created by Jinnah is long dead and gone. This is Gen Zia's Pakistan, and the recent constitutional amendment has just about perfected it.

Secondly, IK was installed the same way he was deposed, and hence his stature never was that of a true popular politician, despite all the claims, but a mere pawn, used and discarded.

Fears of Pakistan's breakup just because one pawn got too big for its britches are greatly exaggerated, as they say.

Nope, PTI cultists are only trying to show military establishment to learn from history and do not repeat the mistakes it made after general elections 1970. 🙄

Then why did military establishment had to STEAL the election from IK / PTI on February 8, 2024 if he or his party wasn’t popular in public? 🙄
