Venezuela - US Conflict: News, Updates

Good point. The US was deeply involved in destabilizing Latin America in the 1970s and 1980s but had then left the region alone since then. Because of that many Latin American countries were able to starve their militaries, build democracies, invest in human capital and infra and sign trade agreements. Its not been noticed much abroad but Latin America is in much better shape than most of the Islamic world.

With this Venezuela attack the US has gone back to its 70s and 80s policy.
Modified 70s/80s policy. Limiting proxies and doing the work themselves to prevent middlemen screwing up the transition. I suspect marines will be in Venezuela soon to secure the oil fields and set up some administrative authority from a near by city.

Venezuela chooses the path of struggle 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez:

“There is no doubt that an attack of this kind has a color
Zionism..

The Defense Decree is now in effect, and all of Venezuela is mobilized.

There is only one president in this country, and his name is Nicolas Maduro.

Heck Fidel Castro was able to die in peace in old age! Its not been noticed much abroad but Latin America is in much better shape than most of the Islamic world.

"....Oh, I'm afraid that the Monroe Doctrine is still quite operational...."

But Mexico is a hornet’s nest with cartel ops deep into many places in the US. It would be great if Trump could take them out, but it seems a bridge even too far for Trump to be able to pull off.

We still have three years of his Presidency. A looooooooooooooooong three years.

Or, they could have let one off in a less populated area as a warning first.....

But what do I know. That option won't make Americans feel better so let's stick with bombing their most populated cities at the time as the only feasible option.
The US bombed and destroyed Tokyo in the war earlier. Tokyo was one of the largest cities in the world even in the 1940s. The US used incendiary (napalm) bombs in Tokyo, these bombs created a massive firestorm that killed 100,000+ civilians and forced many more to flee from the city. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were struck later. Hiroshima was a Japanese military hub and Nagasaki was an industrial city back then. The Pacific War was absolutely brutal with the belligerents not holding back in clashes. The Battle of Okinawa convinced the US to attack and level Japanese cities one by one. This shift in the use of force convinced Japan to surrender.

The main reason is debt to international banksters. The confiscated oil will be used to pay off the debt.
Amazing how Venezuela's oil must be confiscated to settle its debts but Argentina never has to pay back anything. It's all about whether you are western bootlicker or not.

I don't think so Mr Crockett. The Venezuelans are done. This is not the Mideast with stubborn people :D

The lack of casualties in this adventure means many others will now be undertaken in remaining Trump years :( Cuba, Panama, Greenland should be concerned.

That’s true, but it would involve a lot of changes inside the US. But then again, Trump is the kind of person that dormant care about the costs. When he wants something and can impose it….

Venezuela has many many generals ore than it needs. They all have special fiefdoms running every little industry in Venezuela. Probably got bought off to stand down.

Yup. The midterms will show whether there are chances of any restraints being imposed or not. But this has been done well before that. The aftermath of this event might still cast a shadow on the midterms, perhaps.
