Turkey Said to Seek Membership of Saudi-Pakistan Defense Pact

Turkey is seeking to join the defense alliance between Saudi Arabia and nuclear-armed Pakistan, according to people familiar with the matter, paving the way for a new security alignment that could shift the balance of power in the Middle East and beyond.

The deal, initially signed by Saudi Arabia and Pakistan in September, states that “any aggression” against one country is considered an attack on all. That mirrors Article 5 in NATO, of which Turkey is the largest military after the US. The talks are at an advanced stage and a deal is very likely, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Saudi Pakistan deal contained a nuclear umbrella. If Turkey is actually going to join such a deal, then thats a gamechanger.

My man the middle east is going through a big change, SA and Turkey are enjoying closest relationship for a long time. Their foreign policy are also aligning with regional situations. If this news is true, we are looking at an Islamic Nato forming.

not thats all irrelevant. Both Turkey and Pakistan are Hanafi Maturidis. Makes no sense to hate on one and not the other. There is no dispute between Turkey and Saudi for the most part, outside of the previously Ikhwaan support stuff and the Khashoggi stuff, but we are way beyond that now, with the realignment Post Gaza, Post Syria and Post Qatar bombing by Israelis. Now there is a conflict brewing between the Saudis and the Israel/UAE nexus.

Its forming because of converging interests between these 3 states, and these three states actually having something to offer to each other. Pakistan has Nuclear Weapons and a Massive Population and large standing Military. Saudis have Money, Turkey has technology. Others don't necessarily have something to bring to the Table, and are not as politically willing as these 3 currently as, with converging interests and common enemies.

I am in favor of such an arrangement, I am dubious on the "nuclear umbrella" aspect, as Pakistani programs and rhetoric has always said it was "India-specific", and there is wisdom in that.

These 3 countries together militarily make a formidable opponent, take US and Turkey out of Nato, Nato starts to look weaker than Russia.

EU may not be around if shit really hits the fan. EU cannot fight Russia on the Eastern Front and US on the Western Front, and add to that, there is a growing rift between Western Europe and Eastern Europe, with some states like Poland having better relations with the US than Germany, if push comes to shove and Western EU wants to fight US over Greenland, Poland and Baltics which rely on the US might say no, creating a break. Add to that Anti EU Pro Russia parties in France, UK and Germany all look to be getting elected in the next election according to Polling.

haha, and you believed that Bullshit? That is only said to pacify the west and not make Pakistan a target. Saudis didn't fund the nuclear program only for India, they did it with the expectation that if Saudi is attacked, Pakistan will come to its aid with a nuclear umbrella. Pakistan's expansion of its Nuclear Arsenal will also be funded by the Saudis, as no one else will give Pakistan that money.

Greece made its alliance against another NATO member. Turkey isn't doing this over Greece, but the Zionist lunatics who are bombing everywhere and trying to destroy the region. Even now they are fundamentally different. But regardless, NATO currently may not be around if Trump attacks Greenland, so its irrelevant.
