Imagine the utter embarrassment of having to release this letter. I bet Alfred Nobel never once imagined such obvious "T's & C's" would actually need public notarising to educate the prize's recipient! Surely any committee bearing his name and with an iota of shame would immediately strip Machado of the prize for this insult.

I wonder for what stupid purpose was that? If somebody won a gold medal in the Olympics and later gave it to somebody why would the International Olympic Committee feel the need to clarify anything? It's on the books..the medal itself is just a token. If anything the Nobel Prize people are making themselves look like angry schoolchildren.

That is because it is unlikely that the recipient of the Olympic gold medal in your hypothetical scenario would claim he rightfully deserved to win the Olympic gold on his own and that the IOC had cheated by not awarding the medal to him in the first place.

In your hypothetical example, if the gold winner handed over their medal to someone who had won silver as a bribe and then declared that the silver medal winner was more deserving of the gold, I suspect the IOC would clarify that the person who did not win the gold medal but obtained it through other means and was now declaring that they rightfully deserved it, was not actually considered the gold medal winner according to the IOC.

Someone is clearly acting like a child here. One has to be particularly dense to not see who it is.

I don't know about IOC or Nobel, but I gave one of my campaign medals to a friend of mine, who missed out on the campaign because of an illness, and somehow DOD knows that and issued me a formal reprimand. And saying the medal is not transferable.

I don't know what your personal history is, whether you have won or awarded something in your life, you may say, what's the big deal? You still have the certificate saying you earned that. It's apparent that the person I gave the medal to knows he didn't earn it, but it may mean nothing to you, but it means everything to the organisation that gives you that medal, and what it stands for. Because that's how you earn it, and more importantly, that's how they want you to earn it. It's like you wear your uniform, you don't give it to someone wearing it to shoot p0rn, because that's desecrating the uniform, that's the same with medals, and giving someone that medal they don't deserve, in the Military, that's called Stolen Valor.

Now I don't know whether an Olympic Medal or Peace Prize has anything of value that much (Well, OIF medals weren't that much to begin with), but I do understand, the part for the recipient is to earn it; otherwise, what's the point for them to give out a prize or medal to begin with?

Sorry, I should say cabinet and the United Russia Party. I am just saying overthrowing Putin does not mean the catipulation of Russia. They will still occupy Ukraine and fight the US. They are not Venezuelans. Same for China, if US boots step into China, most citizens will take up arms. Venezuela is like 1900s China, poor and devisive.
