Saudi Arabia strategic Projects: news, discussions & updates

Lol it is a Saudi royal tradition that each generation will get scammed out of megabucks by Westerners selling the next shiny thing.

Harsh I was going to post something about how they have cut down the project a lot but honestly I actually like the idea but he thought too too big world changing almost instead of focusing on one project at a time I’m guessing that 500 billion initial investment has already come and gone in 10 years.
Like I say I totally agree on Arab and Muslim countries becoming fully independent and hopefully they do invest at home instead of abroad
Should have brought the Koreans to show them how to do it right to fair I live anything Korean……..it used to be all things Japanese at one time still live my anime now it’s Korean wings and Korean rom coms

What has this to do with others posting or not in this thread? There are already numerous other users that have posted. That is not the issue. The issue is posting the same news, already discussed previously, by an anti-KSA/anti-Arab troll (@Watandar ).

Nor is it anything new or surprising given the fact that KSA has the world's largest infrastructure projects on the planet, only behind China. Downscaling or even postponing some of those mega and giga projects out of 100's if not 1000's of overall projects, is neither news nor a reason to troll about some imaginary "Western scam" (projecting again his own country's experience and history - none of which has anything to do with KSA experiences).

It is hilarious that trolls with an agenda try to hijack this thread in order to frame the gigantic leaps that KSA has taken and is undertaking in practically every sphere. Objectively measurable at that too by data and accomplishments.

The scale is unprecedented and only seen elsewhere in China.

American broadcaster "Tucker Carlson":I am a committed Christian who finds peace in Saudi Arabia, the heart of the Islamic world, and my words may upset those who promote lies. I affirm that my presence here is not to promote Saudi Arabia, for it is a real and strong country with its diplomacy and resources, and it does not need that.

The Rub' al-Khali is one of the world's most isolated and least populated areas. It is home to some of the world's largest underwater lakes which is the reason for the many lakes despite the low rainfall. Some surreal landscapes in general and the world's tallest sand dunes. Extreme climate too with very high differences in temperature between day and night.

lot of clickbait stuff in the article but the project was scaled back to focus on FIFA2034 and Expo2030 as they have immovable deadlines compared to these projects. Trojena and Line will continue on a slower speed and might be scaled later down the road.
Megaproject always stumble, theres nothing new in that, and no one has enough liquidity to bankroll all the projects all the time.

Couple more megaflops are discussed in this good article, King Abdul Aziz Economic City and Jeddah Tower. Article also talks about forced demolitions and displacement to make way for these megalomaniacal projects.

Yea lets not quote LAtimes about stuff in KAEC or Jeddah tower, both projects are working full time the Economic city has the 3 of the largest car manufacturing facilities coming online over the next 18-24 months, which include Lucid, Ceer and Hyundai.
Jeddah Tower has already completed 71 stories and you can watch the live feed for the construction on their website
I mean if you want to just post propaganda stuff I think the jerusalem times will give you better articles than this low research effort from latimes

What do I care about "Jerusalem Times" and why are my posts "propaganda" but yours are facts ? There is a long record of Saudi royals being ripped off by Westerners and this tradition has continued, as exemplified by the articles I posted.

@Musings so this is your type of "discussion", a troll running rampant and polluting this thread?

Does this (KAEC) look like an imaginary mega flop to you?

Hyundai to build EV factory in Saudi Arabia

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Middle East (HMMME), a joint venture between the Saudi sovereign wealth fund PIF and the Hyundai Motor Company, has started construction of its announced vehicle plant in Saudi Arabia. In addition to combustion engines, electric cars are also to roll off the production line there.

KAEC, Saudi Arabia, May 14, 2025
– Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Middle East (HMMME), a joint venture between PIF and Hyundai Motor Company, today hosted its groundbreaking ceremony in the recently announced King Salman Automotive Cluster within King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). The ceremony is a significant milestone that marks another step in the development of the automotive industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As for Jeddah Tower, it was never a governmental project but a private one and now with governmental involvement, the project has resumed but it is far from a priority with 100's of other projects being far more important.

No need to waste your time on a notorious anti-KSA and anti-Arab troll like that individual. The moderator above seems to be tolerating this behavior and his hijacking of this thread which is not designed for discussion but only for troll intentions as can be seen. I have him on ignore now.

In any case, as you wrote, it is completely normal for projects of this scale to be postponed or scaled down in particular given the enormous infrastructure boom occurring all across KSA which very few countries can compete with. In many ways KSA is one giant construction right now.

Also ministers and officials have openly said that all ongoing and future projects are constantly monitored and that they have no problem scaling down projects or outright abandoning them if not feasible. Which is a good thing.

Saudi Arabia has 'no ego' to prevent it from cancelling megaprojects, finance minister says

@Mr X kindly take a look at that individuals troll posts in this thread. Not conductive for any sensible discussions nor contributing with anything other than his motivation which is trolling and derailing the thread with nonsense.

1. Neither of the projects have to do anything with westerners, both have been local projects with local construction firms.
2.My view is from me living here and you are quoting Latimes with no on ground presence
3. That article is written by Nabih Bulos same guy who thinks that Hamas attacked poor innocent Israelis and everything israel did was self defense.1769719107809.png
4. unless ofcourse you believe that latimes is the epitome of impartiality then I am sure the Palestinians would be surprised to hear that they have been the bad guys all along

Wrong. Not only about these projects but about Saudi Arabia itself.

You living there means very little. You are just another man walking down the street and typing away in keyboards.

that doesn't mean his article on Saudi megaflops is incorrect.

Palestinians or this reporter don't have any personal connection to these megaflop projects. Why are you so unhappy with discussing an alternative point of view ? Must be the brainwashing you are subjected to in that tribal authoritarian society.

You are just another man walking down the street and typing away in keyboards.
and i thought I was sitting on my sofa, just found out I am actually walking.
I am wrong, Nabih Bulos and his unbiased view is superior.
