But actually that article is from 2023. I think I might have posted it somewhere on the forum months ago.

The multi-layered air defense network established by Turkey in Cyprus is being analyzed using satellite images. HISAR systems operate in integration with radars with ranges of 120 km and 500 km. This structure creates 'lethal zones' against helicopters, drones, and cruise missiles. All systems are connected to the central command network in Turkey (HAKIM). Additionally, communication networks can be disrupted with electronic warfare capabilities. This situation presents a critical picture in terms of military balance and deterrence in Cyprus.

Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic (TRNC) Prime Minister Ünal Üstel:

Had we not had our motherland, the Republic of Turkey, we too would have endured the same pressures, the same atrocities, and the Greek Cypriots' brutal massacres that are happening in Gaza, in the very same way.

The fact that the Greek Cypriots could not go that far is due to the great support we receive from the Republic of Turkey. Otherwise, they might have wiped out the Turkish Cypriots by now.

Those four points, sometimes referred to as “preconditions” – a term Erhurman resents – foresee that the Greek Cypriot side accept political equality, time-limit negotiations, and preserve all past agreements, and that the UN guarantee that embargoes placed on the Turkish Cypriots be lifted if the Greek Cypriot side leaves the negotiating table again.

The Greeks are not happy.

I don't think there is a point in negotiating, not sure why they are rushing into this. The current Status Quo is currently in favor of Turkey, and the longer time goes on, the more that Dynamic benefits Turkiye.

The Greeks are upset because they believed that Erhürman would prefer a second-class existence under Greek reign rather than a relationship with Turkey. They completely misunderstand the dynamics between Turkey and Northern Cyprus.

I also have doubts about negotiations. I firmly believe that the Turkish government is essentially working to resolve various issues (Eurofighters, F35, Customs Union, Visa, TF KAAN) prior to a significant shift occurring on the island. I am quite certain that the Greeks are sensing this impending change.

Imaginations from the other side... 🤦🏻‍♂️

I doubt mainland Turkey would allow a true reunion of the island,if that was actually possible now. Too much to lose for the mainland. Better to push on for a two-State solution and Mavi Vatan doctrines that would trample the Cypriot EEZ in its whole. If there's a harmonious co-existence between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots for a Cyprus that will look for its own interests, what will the warhawks and populists in Turkey gain? Nothing.

Shouldn't have tried to carry out the Akritas genocide plan for Enosis.
Nobody tried to carry out anything like that. They keep feeding you propaganda and you keep eating it. You are stuck in a mindset of Turkish victimhood and refuse to accept there was violence from both sides in Cyprus.

nope, you started it, trying to undo the constitution and subjugate and/or expel Turkish Cypriots just like what happened on Crete, and it backfired on you when Turkey intervened. Should have never touched the constitution and allowed that priest Makarios to somehow rule the island with the Junta.
